    While at Lowe’s in Derby myself and 4 friends went in to browse and purchase a couple things needed for an up coming project. We were in there for maybe 5 minutes before a worker came up and interrogated us about why we were there and what we were doing. After answering his questions him and two other coworkers proceeded to follow us around the store. While checking out the worker and another coworker were standing next to us talking saying we were the “stealing type” and how they had no evidence of us doing it (because we weren’t) but that we were the type of people they are warned about. Not sure what that means as we are all 20 year olds and come to Lowe’s often. Needless to say we will not be returning and Lowe’s has just lost hard working customers.

    Great prices, I had a scheduled garage door opener install. A fraction of the price compared to home depot, home depot charged 4x the amount for installation, but their communication in setting up the install and errors like canceling my payment from install and threatening to cancel to then temporarily double charging me it was a mess, However in the end the charge was fixed and the young man who came out and installed it was professional, knowledgeable, polite, friendly, and left his work area spotless. It was worth the savings in the end even with the issues!!

    There probably isn't enough space here to describe my entire experience with Lowe's Installation Services via the Derby, CT store, so I'll just provide the highlights. - On June 11th I signed a contract with an install date of July 8th, and paid in full - they didn't do the install until November 1st - FOUR AND 1/2 MONTHS LATER - They never placed my order until July 27th - The sales person changed the installation dates on the contract AFTER I signed it - Once you pay, no one will talk/return your calls - not the sales person, not the managers, and not customer support - I finally got them to check my order, and was told that their ALUMINUM FENCE supplier doesn't have any aluminum to make fences, but they promised to do the installation if they ever made fencing again. - Lowe's only delivered 1/2 of fencing I paid for, the installer had to supply what he happened to have on hand Basically it's the biggest clown show I've ever encountered in my life, and all you'll hear from them is "I'm sorry" (if you hear from anyone at all) I finally mailed a letter to Lowe's CEO, who put me in touch with Lowe's Executive Customer Service. They promised to train the Derby Staff on how to do their jobs. In the meanwhile, I'd stay as far away as possible. If you want to buy some light bulbs, fine. But if you need installation services try Home Depot - that's who my neighbors used and they were very happy with the experience PS - Lowe's Derby contracts out to Oxford Fence to do the actual installation - Oxford Fence is FANTASTIC, it's just Lowe's that's completely useless 2025-12-21 UPDATE Lowe's response to my review is a perfect example of my complaints: 1) Even though my review says: ALL YOU'LL HEAR FROM THEM IS I'M SORRY what are the first words of their response? WE'RE VERY SORRY. Anyone want to place bets on whether anyone actually read the review I wrote????? 2) And how do they want to rectify the situation? They want me to call the generic customer service number with no extension or name to ask for. This is the same number I called to get the following comforting words about my fence installation (paraphrased) "Don't worry that that aluminum fence company may have gone out of business - we'll install your fence if they ever reopen."
