I was at this store to get some cut to size wire rope for a broken garage door. I asked for 12’ since I measured the broken wire. I went to go put back a packaged wire rope that would have been too long. When I got back the employee was done. I went back to finish the repair and the wire rope was too short. OK maybe I measured wrong. I went back to the store and this time I asked for 13’. When the employee went to measure he used the markings on the floor. Well the markings start at 1’ and not zero. He was going to only give me 12’ until I pointed out the error.
I now know why I was short initially, they only gave me 11’. Turns out they are potentially shorting everyone a foot on every cut when being measured on the floor markings. What a crappy way to make profit off of customers.
I did move the display to see if there might be a starting zero and there was not one. Way to go Lowe’s, ripping off customers small amounts at a time so that we do not notice. This could have cost me double the amount as I had to go back and get double supplies. My advice would be to stay away from this Lowes store. I would definitely check other Lowe’s to see if this is isolated to just this store.
