The area is fenced off to help prevent any unwanted guests. I also like the convenience of the app. The app let you access the front gate digital as well as stored your code for the keypad if needed, it also allowed you to set up auto pay or pay one time payments. When moving out Anne was kind and walked me through the process as well as gave my pup some attention before our long drive to NC.
