Called them for door installment and they set me up for measurements, after I told them I have all the separate parts for a door frame to be installed for a single slab. Charged me 40 bucks and when the measurement guy arrived. They said Lowes doesn't do the project I'm looking to do, despite explaining myself prior. Lowe's said they'd refund me in person, and now 2 weeks later, no emails and now they're going back on their word and don't want to refund me because the service was provided. So Lowe's took no blame for their own employee's mistake in providing a service that wasn't possible for what I expressed in detail over the phone. They tried their best to help, but to be promised a refund by the assistant manager and then go back on your word is terrible customer service. It should cost nothing for Lowe's to refund a customer $40 dollars that is a mistake on their end to set me up for a door installation that they mistakenly set me up for. That is unbelievable... Should be no question that I deserve that refund, it's Lowe's who should absorb the cost for their mistakes...

As a long-time customer who’s shopped this location for years, this is my farewell review because I’m officially switching to Home Depot and never looking back. The store has taken a noticeable nosedive lately. They’ve quietly swapped out reliable brands for cheaper house-label junk—like ditching decent light bulbs for Utilitech knockoffs that burn out faster and feel like a downgrade in every aisle. It’s the kind of cost-cutting that screams “profits over quality,” and it shows. Staff seem exhausted and under-supported, which trickles down to slower help and a general “who cares” atmosphere. Add in the self-checkout push (because who needs actual cashiers anymore?), and the whole experience just feels cheapened. Lowe’s used to be my go-to for home projects in Vista, but not anymore. Corporate seems more focused on squeezing every penny than delivering the solid, reliable shopping trip we all expect. If you’re in the area, save yourself the frustration—head to Home Depot instead. They’ve got better stock, less BS, and a store that doesn’t feel like it’s slowly strip-mining itself. Goodbye, Vista Lowe’s. You had potential once. Thanks for the memories… and the final push to switch.

TIP: Save time at checkout by taking a picture of the sales tag (be sure to capture the ITEM # XXXXX) for any item you plan to purchase that does not have a barcode; i.e. pavers, bricks, stones, lumber, etc...). When you get to the register you can reference this photo and key in the item number. The alternative is to wait for an employee to look it up in the unscannable item flip book. QUESTION: Is it possible to relocate a portion of the paver sand stock from its current location closer to the pavers located in the outdoor garden area? I understand if keeping the sand out of the elements is a priority but the sand is currently at the furthest point possible from the pavers. This results in pushing a cart holding 400-500lbs of pavers the entire width of the store using an aisle that is peppered with sale item displays that crate tight clearances. Then, after adding another 200-300lbs of sand to the cart, pushing that load 2/3 the way back across the store to the check out.
