On Saturday, January 30, 2026, my wife and I went to the Leslie Pool supplies in Vacaville Ca. We were in the market for a pool vacuum, our second in 5 years. We were helped by "Michael" he appeared helpful, and actually tried to sell us on a completely remote vacuum, which was cheaper than the one we ultimately decided on, which was a Polaris VRX iQ+ robotic pool vacuum.
We made our purchase and went on our way. After returning home, we assembled the caddy for the vacuum and deployed it into our pool. 30 mins went by and I went to check on it, and noticed only one side was non-operational. One brush and wheel wasn't spinning. As I used the lift system to get it out of the pool, it couldn't even make its way up the side of the pool, and I had to use a hook to remove it from the water.
After removing it from the water, it appeared there were "parts" floating behind the front drive wheel, which was not allowing it to work properly. We packed it up, went back to the store and talked to Michael about the machine not functioning properly. We asked if we could exchange it for one that worked properly.
He said, "well you already put it in the water, so its a warranty issue now". I said wait, we bought it 2 hours ago, and it didnt make it 30 min?. He said its a warranty issue, drop it off and we will look at it next week.
He also stated because we registered it with Polaris, it wouldn't allow us to have a warranty for the second one.
Mind you we just spent $1,600 dollars and some change, and it wasn't like we used it a month, week, or even a day. I told him to just refund me my money, and I'll go somewhere else.
He became condescending and rude, saying it would take District manager approval to do a refund. I said well, call them then. He then handed me a card with a service/warranty directory information number on it, and told me to leave the store. The number he gave me wasn't anything to do with the district manager. He was rude, and I've never felt this way after making a purchase on anything before, much less the amount we spent Saturday. I will never set foot in this store again, and was ready to never set foot in another Leslie pool supplies store again.

The Vacaville store never answered the phone even though we called several times over a several hour period. I contacted the Fairfield store and they said to keep calling or I can drive to the store. Called the 800 number and was told that I would receive a response in 48-72 hours. Not the type of service I would want to be known for. I would like to be clear that the service provided by the service technician Rudy at our home was excellent. Too bad the store didn’t care more about customer service.

Every time I tried to call these people they never answer the phone and their water testing machine is always seems to be down , not functioning. Very bad customer service I tried to call the main corporate office and got hooked up with the Philippines...
