    Zero effort from the staff. Had to do the job myself. Stopped by Lowe’s Sunnyvale to buy a specific MAPEI grout color. The aisle had plenty of MAPEI grout on the shelf, but the color I needed wasn’t visible. I went to ask for help, mainly to check if there was extra stock in the back or stored deeper on the shelf. The cashier Daniel first told me they don’t carry MAPEI at all, which was confusing since I was literally standing near shelves full of MAPEI grout. After I pulled up the Lowe’s app and showed him the exact item, he then looked it up and gave me the bay/aisle number—which I had already checked. When I asked if there might be more stock (since the shelf tag was there but the product wasn’t), he said it was not in this store and suggested I go to another location. The frustrating part: the app showed “in stock.” So I went back, moved the ladder myself, and after digging deeper into the shelf, I found multiple boxes of the exact grout pushed far back. This wasn’t a “we’re out” situation — it was a “no one bothered to actually check.” I wasted extra time and ended up doing the employee’s job just to buy something that was clearly there. If you’re shopping here for specific items, be prepared to double-check everything yourself and don’t assume the first answer you get is accurate.

    Did you know that if you pay for something with a Lowe's gift card (that can be used online and in-store), then have to return that item, they will issue you an in-store only gift card in its place and not tell you that you can no longer use it online. This happened to me and then I could not use it to get the online price of an item. Manager would not make it right by either matching the online price and letting me use my in-store only gift card, or allowing me to use the gift card online. Aren't you always supposed to receive your money back in the exact way you used to pay? All other kinds of stores so that.

    I love that they have items other hardware stores don't. I needed a very specific screwdriver bit and they had a screwdriver with over 15 options! Very happy and perfect for the very specific screws I need it for.

    Needed wood cut. Checked out and then was told “only one person” could cut wood and they just left for lunch. I couldn’t get the wood in my car uncut so waited. After over an hour of waiting, some guy shows up with Lowe’s helper and gets his project cut, jumping myself and one other person who had been waiting. Equipment was malfunctioning and “poorly maintained” per Lowe’s employee after they cut the first piece of wood 1/2 inch short. Finally get a supervisor to do the cut, who seemed put off by having to help. Needless to say, there were at least four people in the store who could have helped and they wanted me to wait over an hour for some guy who took a 1.5 hour lunch. Manager showed up and was like, “We will take care of you Boss”. Should have done that an hour earlier. Took me 1 hr 15 minute to leave after I had checked out. Bad service.

    came to this Lowe’s with my son to buy a piece of plywood that needed to be cut. After waiting over an hour, we were told the saw was down and asked to come back at a specific time. When we returned at the time they gave us, no one could tell us whether the saw was working. The employee responsible said it would take another 30 minutes just to check. We then asked to speak with a manager and waited an additional 20 minutes — no one ever came. Total time wasted: over 2.5 hours, with zero communication or accountability. Worst retail experience I’ve had in years. We left without purchasing anything and will not be returning. Stay away.
