I am AWESTRUCK at the lack of service. Bought a stackable washer and dryer for my mom. They installed it. 5 weeks and it failed. Warranty? 48hrs. Yes, you read that right. 48 hrs. It took them longer than that to deliver it! Well, thank goodness I bought a service contract. 21 days for them to get it fixed. I wonder if there’s a lemon law on major appliances? G.E. Doesn’t care at all and neither does Lowe’s. Last appliance I’ll be buying from them. Either of them. You sure learn a lot about a business when they already have your money.

This was actually my first time visiting this Lowe’s and I was really impressed. I ended up in the hardware area getting a key made, and the associate helping me has been there for years—we ended up talking about how much things have changed. I used to work at Home Depot for 18 years (a long time ago!), so it was fun reminiscing and comparing how different everything is now. The key machine itself was super high-tech and worked perfectly, and while we were talking I noticed what looked like a little robot going down the aisle… turns out it’s an inventory machine. That alone made me stop and think how far retail has come. The store overall felt really clean and organized, and honestly a bit more “polished” compared to the Home Depots I’ve been to recently—it feels more like a store than a warehouse. The employees were all very friendly, and even the younger staff were helpful and attentive. They also had a really nice garden section with beautiful plants (I ended up bringing one home!) and some cute garden-style shirts that were reasonably priced. Overall, a really good experience—I’ll definitely be back.

***Beware - Bait and switch tactics at the Lowes in Santee, CA.*** We went to purchase a chest freezer at the Santee, CA location this past weekend after much research and finding what fits our budget. The sale price that was given online was NOT stated as "online only" and indicated we could pick up the item at the specific store in Santee, CA. We made the 60+ mile drive to the Santee location (We live in a very remote/rural area so whenever we make a large purchase it is a process and we cannot trust to have certain items delivered without risk of damage, return issues, etc.) We went directly to the appliance department and asked the salesperson if the item we wanted was in stock, to which she confirmed. The item was rung up but for the higher, non-sale price. As we brought her attention to this, she simply stated that the in-store price can be different and that they are instructed not to honor the online lower price. We then asked for a supervisor. The person representing himself as the OPS Manager, Aloha Lauler, came to discuss the matter with us. We reiterated all the same facts; item was on sale, online price was not being honored, item was in store. He gave the same explanation but added in greater detail how this happens all the time. After a good amount of debate he said we could pay for it online and have it delivered to a store for pick-up. What?? Ok, that sounded reasonable enough to get what we came for at the price advertised. However, he then said that we could only take the one in stock at that store as long as the system indicated that it would be. Again, What?? The item WAS at that store. He went into this long explanation that when we get to the end of my purchase online, we may be directed to pick-up at a different location. OMG! We just drove 1-1/2 hours to pick up here, where it is, and now we may have to go to another store even if they have the item at the very location we were. So, we asked for his supervisor (this is where our patience starts to wear thin) He states there is no other person at the store higher than him, that he was the operations manager (though his name tag said Assistant Manager, not OPS Manager) Fine. We asked for the store manager’s name and all the relative phone numbers for the store and customer service and proceeded to leave. Just before we left, my husband asked a different salesperson who the store manager was and if they were on premises. He was. Only ten feet from where we were then standing. We approached the store manager, Marco Romero, and went through the entire thing, AGAIN! Marco attempted to feed me the same line, both the first salesperson and Aloha Lauler stated but we were not having it. It wasn’t until we mentioned Aloha’s direct lie to us that Marco finally ceded. He now agreed to honor the price and ran me back to the appliance department. Yes, we did leave with what we wanted/needed, but at a ridiculous amount of time and energy. The item we purchased was originally $399, on sale for $299. It is inconceivable that $100 was worth them losing a forever customer with thousands of DIY projects to come. I will not be going back to Lowes, EVER!
