Although they showed up on time and got the job done in a timely manner, they broke tiles all over my roof. Completely broke all the tiles along the ridge line and left broken tiles scattered all along the perimeter of the house. When I called to talk to the manager I was told I signed a contract that stated they weren’t responsible for broken tiles. I understand it’s difficult to work on a tile roof but the damage they did is going to cost thousands to repair and appears they were completely negligent. Don’t fall for the cheap price like I did.

Horacio came out and did a very thorough and professional job. He was very meticulous on replacing my garage side door and treating the damaged wood under my home. I am truly satisfied with his work ethic. I definitely would recommend Escocia for all your Termite repair needs.
Are the chemicals you use safe for pets and children?
Our XT-2000 Orange Oil Plus treatment is safe for pets and children. It's derived from citrus rinds, a renewable resource, and doesn't leave harmful residues. This cost-effective option doesn't require tenting, saving you money on food disposal, medication replacement, and temporary relocation. It's also gentle on your landscaping, making it an environmentally friendly choice.
What are subterranean termites?
Subterranean termites are responsible for approximately 95% of termite-related damage in American properties. They cause over $2 billion in annual destruction, surpassing damage from windstorms and fires combined. To detect them, tap wood with a screwdriver handle; a hollow sound may indicate their presence. These termites thrive in moist environments, so keeping structural wood dry is crucial for prevention.
What are dry wood termites?
Dry wood termites, while less prevalent in the US than subterranean termites, present unique challenges. They inhabit dry wood directly, requiring no ground contact or additional moisture. Signs of infestation include smooth tunnels in wood and small, hard fecal pellets resembling ground pepper. These termites typically enter buildings through untreated lumber or tree limbs. Although they work more slowly than subterranean termites, they can significantly compromise structural integrity over time.
Do I have termites or ants?
If you've noticed winged insects indoors, they could be either termites or ants in their reproductive phase. To identify termites, look for these characteristics: paddle-shaped wings approximately twice their body length, straight and relatively short antennae, and bodies consisting of two segments - a head and a ribbed abdomen.
What is Vikane Gas?
Vikane gas fumigant is an inorganic gas that completely dissipates after treatment. This means it leaves no surface residue, odor, or film in your property. As a result, there's no need to clean dishes, linens, clothing, or furniture following the fumigation process.
Can termite infestations be prevented?
To deter termites, implement preventive measures such as reducing moisture accumulation near structural wood. This can be achieved by adding vents in damp-prone areas, fixing leaky plumbing near foundations, and storing wood, cardboard, and similar materials away from your building's foundation. Additionally, scheduling annual professional termite inspections can help detect issues early, preventing significant damage.
How long do I need to vacate the building during treatment?
The duration of your absence during treatment varies depending on the method used. For Orange Oil treatments, you may only need to leave for 6-8 hours on the treatment day. Vikane gas fumigation (tenting) typically requires a 3-day evacuation to allow for the treatment process and proper ventilation. Our technicians will provide you with a detailed treatment plan, including specific instructions on when it's safe to return to your property.
