  UPDATE:　02/07/2026 1:27PM After submitting additional details through the “Need More Help” support form, I was honestly shocked by how fast the KeyMe support team responded. I received a reply almost instantly, which is something I have never experienced before with customer service in the U.S. There was no unnecessary back-and-forth by email or text. My explanation was immediately understood, and the refund for the remaining keys was issued right away. The entire issue was resolved in an incredibly short amount of time. While I was disappointed with the key quality and pricing at first, the way the support team handled the situation afterward was truly exceptional. This level of speed and efficiency is extremely rare. I would like to sincerely thank the support team for their incredibly fast response and for resolving my issue so promptly. — Previous review below — I used KeyMe for the first time at a kiosk inside a VONS store. I chose it because it was easy to access during store hours and I assumed a self-service kiosk would be cheaper than a traditional locksmith — that assumption was my mistake. I only needed standard house keys, but the price was $9.99 per key, which was much higher than expected. I needed three keys, and while the third key was 50% off, the total cost was still expensive. Each key took about 3 minutes to make, and I waited around 10 minutes total. The finished keys were poorly cut, with metal burrs and debris all over the teeth. I had to scrape them off manually with my fingernail, which required some force. No paper receipt is printed at the machine. You must enter your phone number to receive a text message, which only shows the charge amount — no actual receipt attachment. Out of the three keys, one did not work at all and would not turn in the lock. The other two worked only with difficulty and required wiggling the key up, down, and sideways to open the door. A refund link was sent by text. I was refunded instantly for the completely non-working key. However, when I tried to refund the other two afterward, I received a message saying the refund had already been processed. It appears refunds must be done all at once — you cannot submit additional refunds later. Overall, I will not use KeyMe again. The only positive is convenience: kiosks are located inside grocery stores and are accessible late as long as the store is open. However, the price is high and the key quality is poor. If the keys don’t work properly, you end up paying again at a real locksmith anyway. Prices also vary by machine and location, and you cannot see the cost until you start using the kiosk, which makes no sense.

  Keys didn't work. but staff was very nice and gave me my money back and seemed sincerely sorry. Thanks. it worked before for same key. I will just try again tomorrow

  So easy to use. Others have told me that they have seen the machine; but they feared it was too complicated to use. Not so. It was so easy and fast. The best part was not having to drive to Home Depot, find someone to help, wait for them to make the key and then wait again at the register to pay. I just walked up to the machine, inserted the key I wanted duplicated, then followed the simple on-screen steps. I paid with a credit card right there. Within minutes, I had my new key and went on with my grocery shopping.
