  I had a great experience with this company. They were very flexible with scheduling and quickly understood my tree problem and quickly resolved it. They made the process easy, quick and smooth. I needed a large tree trimmed so that it doesn’t hang over the roof and doesn’t touch the wall. They did exactly that and cleaned everything up. The price was good too. Highly recommended. Thanks!

  If we actually needed the work, we'd be going with Wes Marshburn from North County Tree. But after a consultation with Wes, he let us know that all of our trees are in compliance with codes, would look good for insurance and pest abatement, too. He let us know that a few minutes with a pole saw would clear up anything that might make an inspector look twice. As an arborist, he did review with us the structural damage a previous "tree service" company did to our otherwise healthy trees to make them seem like they were compliant with code. Don't let these companies trim straight up the side of the tree to give structure clearance as it can create structural imbalance for the tree that can be bad news in a wind storm. Other companies were happy to quote us $5K+. He charged us nothing for the consultation and wisdom. He'll be who we choose in the future.

  Wes Marshburn has a wealth of tree knowledge, and knows the ins and outs of all trees and the like. Like a good neighbor, he'll ask you what's the issue and what you'd want done, then give some information on the trees in question and how that info relates to your issue, then he'll make his recommendation. What I like about him is that he's not afraid to un-sell himself. If he doesn't think he can help you, he'll say so. He won't make false promises or bite off more than he can chew. I asked him for some info about palms in my front yard, and he gave me a very honest opinion, and almost told me that I could do it myself as these types were reasonably soft to cut and they weren't large. I trust Wes' tree knowledge and expertise. He's been doing this a long time, and many of my friends that I've referred to him have made use of his services repeatedly.

  North County was not my low bidder. I had two lower bids that included complete removal of a problem tree North County's bid was only to trim. North County's bid was for less work for more money than the other bidders but the others were not available for several days and my trees needed attention. This put me in a spot. This gentleman hard sells his experience and expertise. This plus availability convinced me to use his service and rely on his advice to trim rather than remove the problem tree. Workers were dropped off with equipment and the man whose experience and expertise I expected, to my surprise started leaving. As he was leaving I told him I was uncomfortable he was leaving his crew unsupervised. He assured me they would do fine. Later when I noticed the job wasn't going as expected, a language barrier kept me from correcting them and I had to contact the boss to get the job back on track over the phone. The work continued unsupervised except by me as best I could. The boss never showed again till late in the day to collect. At that point I expressed my disappointment that he had not been there to manage the job and also that I noticed a couple problem limbs still hanging over my chimney. At that point I might have been satisfied with cutting a couple more limbs but his response was that I was wrong. I made it plain I was not satisfied but he made it plain he was right and I was wrong and he was not about to do anything more to satisfy me. In the end I did get rid of some undesirable trees. After spending a lot of money, the big problem tree still hangs over my house and I'll need to pay someone else more money to remove it . Not wanting to be unfair or unreasonable I'm posting this review only after months to think it over. This gentleman sold me his advice, experience, and expertise. In my opinion, he did not deliver what I reasonably expected. I gave two stars because those who did the actual did work did great. The workers get five stars. The management I can't recommend.
