  I went in earlier this week to buy gyprock to patch a hole in my ceiling. I only needed a 2' x 2' piece, but was told it only comes in 4' x 8' sheets. Fine — I was happy to buy the full board as long as it could be cut down to fit in my car. The yard worker just said "we don't cut," so I assumed that was standard policy and left. I later found out it isn't standard at all — the staff just didn't want to be bothered, and took advantage of the fact that I didn't know better. I went back with my father-in-law, who was helping with the repair. The same yard worker gave us the same runaround, then begrudgingly sent us inside to pay at the pro desk. The pro desk staffer wasn't rude, but also said they "don't cut" — though he mentioned the yard guys could help if they "weren't busy." The guys in question were sitting on cinderblocks in the parking lot, clearly just waiting out their shift. After paying, we went back to the yard to get the board cut. Despite wearing work-belts with knives on them, the staff again refused, saying they don't cut. At this point, my father-in-law made a comment in jest about how we would happily give them the remaining panel for their own personal use. Though no offense was intended, both workers began berating us for what they perceived to have been a grave and insulting comment. We eventually got the gyprock, which is the only reason this isn't a zero-star review. If RONA genuinely doesn't cut materials, that policy should be posted clearly so customers aren't given the runaround. And if RONA does expect staff to help customers, it might be worth reconsidering who's on the floor.

  À éviter Bois de construction cher comparé à d’autres endroits. On devait parler à un employé pour la coupe d’une planche. Après avoir demandé à un employé dans la cours arrière, il nous a marmonné quelque chose, a pris notre facture de commande et est retourné trier des choses en forklift dans un hangar. J’ai dû lui courir après pour qu’on me redonne ma feuille de commande, qu’on me dise où aller et à qui parler. Bof 😅
