    We had a lovely experience with Bev. She was very kind and helpful. Unfortunately we waited too long to fill out the customer satisfaction survey and it expired but I thought I’d leave this review because she is an exceptional employee and deserved to be acknowledged for that!

    I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the customer service I received during a recent return transaction at the Hamilton East RONA location. I have been a long-time RONA customer and have always found staff to be professional, helpful, and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, my recent experience was very disappointing. 1. Upon approaching the returns counter, the cashier ( Xane) appeared upset and immediately advised that my items could not be returned. The interaction felt unfriendly from the outset. 2. I requested that a supervisor (Mazen)review the situation. 3. When the supervisor arrived, I was informed that the return policy was 30 days. However, my receipt clearly states that exchanges or refunds are accepted within 90 days, subject to the conditions outlined on the receipt. 4. The supervisor mentioned a 15% deduction on the return twice, but directed those comments to the cashier rather than to me, the customer. 5. At no point did the supervisor make eye contact with me or directly explain the return policy, the reason for the deduction, or how the return was being processed. I felt excluded from a conversation that directly concerned me. 6. During the transaction, I had two signs and two separate receipts showing different amounts. When I asked for clarification regarding the difference, I did not receive a clear explanation. 7. When I continued to ask questions, the cashier responded in a dismissive and condescending manner, stating that I had already been told twice and then saying, "Have a good day, Madam," in a way that clearly communicated she wanted to end the conversation rather than assist me. 8. A refund was processed to my credit card, but no one informed me that it could take 5–7 business days for the funds to appear, depending on my financial institution. In my previous experiences at RONA, cashiers have always explained this information. 9. When I raised my concerns with the Head Cashier, Mazen, instead of acknowledging my concerns or apologizing for the poor communication, I felt dismissed. He stated that the 15% deduction had been explained twice. However, those explanations were directed to the cashier, not to me. My concern is not solely about the return itself. It is about the lack of professionalism, communication, and customer service shown throughout the interaction. Customers deserve to be spoken to respectfully, have policies explained directly to them, and have their questions answered without being made to feel like an inconvenience. I would appreciate this complaint being reviewed and would respectfully recommend additional customer service training for the employees involved. This experience was inconsistent with the level of service I have come to expect from RONA over the years.

    0 stars if I could and I've never left a negative review on Google maps before. Shop here often. Bought a Toro string trimmer which had poor battery life and missing screw for holding guard. Used less than an hour. Was told to go home and clean off the grass stains as it couldn't be returned / not in resale condition. Why am I cleaning defective tool for Rona to resell? Will unfortunately have to take business to Home Depot going forward.

    Not good customer service compared to competitors. I asked three different representatives about a simple stuff with photo , and each one referred me to a different department instead of helping directly. It took 45 minutes and I still didn’t get a clear answer. Very disappointing experience. I won’t be coming back.
