About a month ago I had Here's a polished version of your review:

I had a terrible experience with the RONA+ East Gwillimbury location.
I purchased an expensive water softener from this store and had a licensed plumber install it. As soon as the water was turned on, the internal fittings burst and flooded my basement. The plumber attempted the installation two more times with the same result, confirming the unit was defective.
About a week later, I brought the water softener back to the store in its original box with the receipt. The only issue with the packaging was that my kids had drawn on the box with colorful markers. The employee at the returns counter called over a department manager, whom I believe was named Aadel. Before he even inspected the defective unit, he looked at the box from several feet away and immediately refused the return because of the drawings on the packaging.
This made no sense, especially since the receipt clearly states that appliances do not even require their original packaging to be returned. The manager displayed a lot of attitude, came across as power-tripping, and showed no interest in helping resolve the situation. He took a copy of my receipt and told me he would call me the next day, but by that point I had already lost confidence in the store.
Instead, I drove three hours to another RONA+ location, where they processed the return without any hassle or argument.
The difference in customer service between the two stores was unbelievable. I would strongly recommend avoiding the East Gwillimbury location if you expect fair treatment or reasonable customer service, especially when dealing with a legitimate warranty or defective product issue.
You can make it shorter or more forceful if you're planning to post it on Google Reviews.

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!Went specifically for a sale in the garden centre. No one around to help. No signs for sale prices.. finally found the ones on sale. , after searching for a long while, took them to the cash ( who had no idea of plants or garden centre at all) and she scanned them and sure enough. no sale price. Showed her the sale price in flyer. Nope... left them at the cash and left. Most disorganized, unhelpful garden centre I have ever been in. Then to add salt to the wound. I left a review on the store website only to be sent an email stating.. my review does not match their criteria!!!
So, they only want good reviews, have no interest at all to correct the issue or apologize.
The management of this store shows incompetance at a high level.

I would like to sincerely thank the entire returns team at RONA+ East Gwillimbury, especially Ryan D and Michelle K, for their outstanding customer service.
I came in with a very complicated return situation involving a piece of equipment that required coordination with the manufacturer. It was not an easy case, and I know I was bringing a difficult problem to the team. Despite being extremely busy, Ryan D stepped in immediately when I arrived around 7:00 PM. Even knowing that my case would take significant time and effort, he proactively took ownership of the issue and patiently worked through every detail.
Because the case required communication with the manufacturer, it took about an hour to resolve and was finally completed around 8:00 PM. During that entire time, I watched Ryan D handle several other customer cases while managing mine. He was incredibly busy, yet remained organized, professional, calm, and efficient throughout the process. Michelle K was also constantly assisting customers and handling various matters with the same level of professionalism and dedication.
I believe the returns department is one of the toughest teams in any retail business. They often have to deal with frustrated customers, complicated situations, and a great deal of pressure. Ryan D and Michelle K demonstrated remarkable patience, professionalism, and genuine care for their customers despite those challenges.
I am genuinely grateful that our community has a store like RONA+ East Gwillimbury and employees like Ryan D and Michelle K. Their service was better than what I have experienced at any comparable retailer. They turned what could have been a frustrating experience into a very positive one and ultimately found a perfect solution.
I would also genuinely encourage more people to shop at this store. The shopping experience here is truly excellent. The staff are willing to take the time to help customers solve problems, and they do so with professionalism, patience, and respect. In today's retail environment, that level of customer service is becoming increasingly rare and deserves recognition.
As customers, we often remember to complain when things go wrong, but we should also take the time to recognize exceptional service when we receive it. Ryan D, Michelle K, and the entire returns team truly deserve that recognition.
Thank you for your hard work and dedication. You have earned a loyal customer, and I look forward to shopping here again.

I would like to recognize Ghassan at RONA EG for his outstanding customer service.
I was working on building a foldable cedar bar table for my backyard and needed help finding all the right tools, hardware, and materials. I showed Ghassan a few photos of what I was trying to create, and he immediately understood my vision. He was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout the entire process.
Ghassan took the time to walk me through the store, bringing me to each aisle and helping me find every part I needed. He answered all of my questions, offered helpful suggestions, and made what could have been an overwhelming project feel much more manageable.

Do RONA+ charge deposit for the truck/van rental?
A deposit of $500 for all rentals will be charged before we rent the van to a valid credit card. After inspection deposit will be refunded less the rental fee when customer return the van/truck.
How do I pay for the truck/van rental?
We accept all major credit cards.
Please note that cash, checks, gift cards, money orders, or prepaid visa cards are NOT accepted as payment for vehicle rentals. Store associates do not receive discounts on truck rentals and are charged the same rental fee as the customer.
Do RONA offer insurance for the vehicle rental?
At this time, RONA+ does not provide rental insurance. You’ll need to use your own liability insurance that covers non-owned vehicle rentals. Please make sure the proof of insurance is under the renter’s name.
