- SSSierraDec 1, 20253.0$175 to unlock a door. 3rd party locksmith. DO NOT accept card or cash. Doesn't check the people they hire. Customer service will tell you a safety report is not their problem. ------- The locksmith got me in quick which was great. They charge on the higher end for unlocking doors, $175 per door to unlock and kept pressing to change the locks for $100 per door (I have 2) since i had lost my key. This wouldn't be such a big deal as I just needed to get in, but the behavior from the locksmith was concerning and left me scared. The process: Since the locksmiths are 3rd party they can charge in whatever form they want, I had not been made aware they were 3rd party. They send you a digital form to fill put with your card info and ID. The locksmith will meet you at the location and get you in quickly after telling you the cost. They can charge however they want; through venmo, zelle, etc. When the locksmith had called me to verify my location he kept demanding i get my parents. I'm almost 30. I insisted i'd be there but he kept asking for my parents which was wild. When he arrived i told him where he could park and he actually went over to someone else to ask where he could park! He got me in quickly thankfully and let me know the price beforehand. I had been informed over the phone they'd charge to my card through the info given on the form and that would be it. However the gentleman then asked for my venmo which confused me and asked about the form. He began getting aggressive and yelling "don't play me" and "all you ameri-"(always stopping before saying the full word). I was thrown off by the sudden hostility, I kept trying to explain that I was just confused and validate that I wouldn't be double charged if I paid through venmo and he kept yelling in the hallway that I was lying and tried reaching past me for my door handle. I showed him the text and confirmation screen that I filled out the form for their company and he didn't stop. I finally paid to get him to just leave and he tried to push to have my door locks changed. Multiple Nos and he wouldn't stop. I tried calling customer service to ask about this and make a report and was told that yes they charge to the card but oh you paid through venmo? Okay that counts too. No clarification regrading why they needed my ID and credit card info prior! When I went to make a complaint the lady over the phone sighed and said it wasn't her problem. They DO NOT vet the locksmiths they work with but they get the job done. To be honest I'm never going through them again for my own safety. The whole process was sketchy and the racist commentary didn't help.
