- MMMendyJun 27, 20251.0Update: 4 days later, I received an email saying they can't copy the key: "Thanks for ordering with KeyMe. As part of our quality assurance process, your order was transferred to our human review team. Upon further inspection, we can not copy the following key types at this time." It's not some kind of special key. It's a basic mailbox key. The same kind used in every single apartment, home and business in this country. Original Review: Not impressed. The sign above the kiosk says "Copy Any Key". It took a few tries to get it to register the key and, after redirecting back to the start screen, it eventually got it right. Then it says "unsupported key type". It's a basic mailbox key, not some fancy key type. After all that, it says "you earned a free key". I get to the checkout and it has three keys in the cart for $24+. I just wanted one copy. It then asks for my address because I guess they plan to mail it to me?? No clue. Either way, after a few swipes of the credit card, it finally read it and I was charged almost $13 for a copy of the mailbox key. $13. I guess I'm going to be receiving it in the mail in a few days? Cool idea, terribly poor execution. Next time I'm just going to find one of those little key copying places that has an actual human that hands you the key right there for much less than $13. One star. If the key comes in the mail and it works, I'll come back and update to two stars but that's the max I'd rate this experience.
