  My mom and I had a great experience at Ortho Mattress in Monrovia on Saturday. Brian was great in helping us decide between an extra fit mattress and an ultra firm. We decided on the ultra firm. Thank again Brian! We’ll definitely be back!

  MISLEADING INFORMATION ON A “2-YEAR” FLOOR MODEL THAT APPEARS CLOSER TO 4 YEARS USED... I had a mixed experience at Ortho Mattress that I think future buyers should be aware of. When I came in, I was helped by Brian, who was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to walk me through multiple options. I explained clearly that I value sleep quality and durability, and I was willing to invest in a high-quality mattress that would actually last. He showed me an Aireloom Chester floor model and spoke highly of Aireloom as a premium brand. The mattress felt great in-store — supportive and firm. Because it was a final sale floor model, I specifically asked: - How long has this mattress been on the floor? - Has it had a lot of use? I was told it had been on the floor for about 2 years, and that luxury mattresses like this typically see less foot traffic. Based on that, along with my own research that floor models ~2 years can still be a good value, I moved forward. The mattress was originally around $5,500 and I purchased it for about $2,000 (plus tax), with a box, frame, and protector included. The reality after delivery: On the first night, I woke up with significant back pain and noticed the mattress was bowing in the middle. After further use, it became clear there are visible compression zones that weren’t obvious during a short in-store test, but become very noticeable after a full night’s sleep. Then I discovered something that changed everything: The mattress tag shows the manufacture date February 2022 and the delivery date March 2022, which makes this mattress closer to 4 years old... not 2. That’s not a small difference... that’s essentially double the represented wear time. Attempt to resolve with the store: I contacted the store and spoke directly with district management, and explained calmly that: * I made the purchase based on the “~2 years” representation * The condition and tag suggest significantly more use * I’m not asking for a refund — just a functional mattress I can actually sleep on I was told there is nothing they can do due to the final sale policy. Final thoughts: I fully understand what “final sale” means — and I take responsibility for that. But final sale should not mean inaccurate or misleading information doesn’t matter. The difference between 2 years and ~4 years of use is critical when it comes to mattress performance and longevity. Had I known the true age and condition, I would not have made this purchase. Advice to future buyers: If you’re considering a floor model: - I wouldn't buy a floor model at all after this experience, but if you still are considering it: - Verify the actual manufacturing date, not just verbal estimates - Don’t rely solely on how it feels in-store - Be extremely cautious with final sale items where you have zero protection I appreciate Brian’s professionalism during the sales process, but overall this has resulted in a $2,000+ mistake and ongoing back pain, which is frustrating. I would still be open to a reasonable resolution if the store chooses to make this right.
