- ESEve SanoussiDec 16, 20254.0I have been renting a storage unit with Extra Space for about 18 months. The location is rather far from where I live, so I don’t go very frequently—which says a lot. It’s sort of a dead weight I am carrying. However, I had a very positive experience over the phone with Rae this afternoon (12/16/2025). I had a payment past due, and she was very understanding and warm. She immediately helped me to put a new card on file to be charged for the month. This has consistently been my experience with Extra Space. As a grad student, most months I am late on payment; yet, the staff at Extra Space is always very understanding. Plus, I’ve never been charged a penalty fee! The price for a unit rental seems high to me (hence only 4 stars), but I have nothing else to compare it to, and LA is an expensive city. And the customer service is of a high enough quality that I’m content to keep my rental with Extra Space until I have more time and space to empty out my unit.
