  As a knit pattern designer, I always enjoy visiting craft stores that carry a wide range of supplies, and the Hobby Lobby on Grossmont Blvd. in La Mesa is a great location. This is a large store with plenty of parking, which makes it easy to stop in even when the shopping center is busy. Once inside, the store has a huge selection of craft supplies, home décor, and seasonal items, so it’s easy to spend time browsing. For knitters and yarn lovers, they carry Yarn Bee yarn, which has some really nice options for different types of projects. I also like that they stock Yarnology knitting needles, which are easy to find in the yarn section and are great to have on hand for different projects. The staff have always been friendly and helpful whenever I’ve visited, and the store is generally well organized so it’s easy to find what you need. If you’re in the La Mesa area and enjoy crafting, this Hobby Lobby is a convenient place to pick up supplies. Between the large selection, good parking, and helpful staff, it’s a solid stop for craft shoppers.

  Me encanta que tienen variedad de articulos para manualidades y decoración. Lo unico triste es cuando los materiales que necesito por tempotadas, algunas veces se agotan.

  I recently stopped by Hobby Lobby and had such a pleasant visit. The staff was very friendly, and the store felt organized and inspiring. I especially loved the 40% off Paper Studio section — such great savings if you’re into planners, scrapbooking, or paper crafts. What I always enjoy most about Hobby Lobby is the creativity it sparks. Walking aisle by aisle, seeing all the different designs — from nursery wall art and baby shower decor to seasonal pieces — truly feels like stepping into a space where ideas come to life. With a granddaughter arriving in June, I found myself already pre-planning and imagining sweet little details for her room and future celebrations. There were so many beautiful baby-themed pieces and charming farmhouse-style decor (the little calves and ballerina prints were adorable!). They still had a small Valentine’s section left, though the discounts there weren’t as strong as some of the other sales. Still, the variety throughout the store makes it easy to spend hours exploring. I don’t get to visit as often as I’d like, but this trip was a reminder of how much I enjoy the experience. I also picked up a new planner that I’ll be starting March 1 — feeling inspired and ready for a fresh season.

  Trying to find bags of gemstones to add to my vases. Guess they were short staffed yesterday so other than going to floral section, I had to go on 3 different aisles to find the bags. Not many colors to choose from. This place needs signs on the rows to identify items. 1 employee didn't know where to find charcoal art supplies till a manager arrived to assist. I got what they had but most items were in short supply. I'll go to Michael's next time. Sorry HL but it's like a maze in there trying to get what I need.
