    3/21/2026: I have been a loyal customer for 25+ years. I received an annual invoice yesterday and called to terminate my contract. Customer service stated that they would not charge for the prorated 30 day notice and send a document to sign electronically with in 1 hour. That did not happen and when I called this morning to rectify, Trae would not honor the commitment made yesterday stating the conversation was not documented thus I must pay the prorated fee. Ever since Pye-Barker took over Matson Alarm, the customer service has disappointedly significantly deteriorated. As Matson alarm they were the best, now as Pye-Barker, they are terrible (sad). I can no longer recommend this company. What good is an alarm company with terrible customer service? Update (3/23/2026): I just got off the phone with the manager, Trina. She resolved the issue with an apology and reversed the prorated charge. That is what I call great customer service follow up. As a result, I changed the star rating from 1 to 4.

    Absolutely the WORST and most dishonest company out there! I heard bad things about this company, but we had the equipment at our home when we bought it. We thought it would make it easier. After the shocking $900 for basicly turning the alarm on, we discovered that it never really worked. It would go off at random times, and we couldn’t set it to “away” when we left or it would go off! It was a nightmare!! When I would call the girl who answered sounded absolutely stoned! I was afraid to give her financial information! So, in September I canceled service. I asked for any charges, so I could pay them and be done!! So I was surprised when they came after me for $30, which was AFTER we cancelled! They wouldn’t work with me at all and I paid, but I’m furious!! Edit: The manager read my review, then hopped on and LIED, then emailed admitting it was their fault and refunded my money. We moved in September, and they were told in May). Definitely sleazy!! Here’s part of what he wrote: “Regarding the billing itself, I also want to apologize that the information you were given did not align with our standard process. Typically, when we receive a 30‑day notice for cancellation, the final charges are prorated for the 30‑day notice period - for example, in your case, from September 21st through October 21st. This is why the $30 balance appeared. However, I reviewed the account, and I did not find any notation regarding that conversation. That lack of documentation is on us, and I sincerely apologize that this was not clearly communicated to you. Because of this miscommunication, and because we are absolutely not the kind of business that wants our customers feeling misled, we have gone ahead and credited back the $30 in full. You will not owe anything further.”

    Manuel did a wonderful job installing our alarm! Thank you also Mike for getting us all set up! This is a great business not only for your alarm and security needs, but also to work for! Elaine still raves about you not only being the greatest boss, but such a genuine, selfless, and happy person to be around, which are qualities we all strive to have. :)

    Matson Alarm is an awful company that is not worth your money. They are rude and not willing to communicate with you.
