    Near impossible to get someone on the phone. Took me many attempts to be able to ask a simple question. A customer service staff member from Seasonal picked up, I asked my question, then she put me on hold and disappeared. Been listening to music for the past 15 minutes... for a simple "yes or no" question.

    I was new to Rona and first discovered the Grandview location while searching online for a battery‑powered pressure washer. Since then, I’ve purchased an EGO pressure washer, trimmer, shop vac, batteries and misting fan from this store on separate visits. Each time, I received professional, personable service from multiple staff members. To my surprise, on my third visit I was even greeted by name, something I truly didn’t expect. I recently experienced challenges with an online order that was fulfilled by Rona’s Waterloo store. The Grandview team stepped in, took ownership of the issue, and resolved it with a genuine customer‑first approach. Their willingness to help, even when the problem didn’t originate with them, really stood out. Because of this store’s consistent care, professionalism, and commitment to customer service, I will absolutely be returning. Thank you, Rona+ Grandview. This senior appreciates your approach, and you’ve earned my continued business.

    No handy carrying baskets near entrance or anywhere in-store, I ended up juggling my items while waiting in a long line for the 1 available cashier. Self checkout is always hit or miss, people having difficulty scanning, no paper for printed receipts etc. I try to support Rona and avoid the competition because of who owns HD and what they stand for, but every trip to Rona ends up being a little frustrating.

    Infuriating checkout process for buying OSB sheets. The barcodes on their sheets do not ring up to a number at either the self checkout or pro desk. The cashiers do not have a way to search for price based on item description so you have to bring them the item SKU or have a photo of the barcode. They also do not know the difference between various items (plywood, Osb, thickness etc) so it would be extremely easy to give a false barcode. I watched someone buy a 2x3 for the price of a 2x4 because the cashier didn't know the difference and didn't step in to correct them because I had already been in line for several minutes due to issues with the self checkout and figured I would only confuse the situation further. Meanwhile, a man beside me swore loudly at the self checkout for asking him to complete a survey and how many bags he had taken (no bags were visible to take). The slow erosion of my humanity brought to you by capitalist profit margins.

    I won't be back. I did an online order for pickup. 4 people standing at pickup counter and nobody would help me. I waited 20 minutes while 1 employee helped the person in front of me. There were 3 registers. One of the other 4 people could have helped me. They put my order in a buggy and pushed it towards me, without holding on to the handle, so it rolled freestyle and didn't even make it to me. I had to walk over and get it where they left it. They gave me my order filthy and covered in dust/dirt. Then I had found 1 item to purchase while there. They have ability to ring me up there at pickup. The employee was extremely rude, raised her voice and told me go walk halfway down that way and pay for it there. Then when I asked them to clean the dirt off my purchase, they all looked so confused about what to do until 1 employee (who was helping the guy ahead of me and appeared to be the only competent one) picked up the duster that was in clear view in front of all of them to help me. But it took them forever to figure out what was happening that I got a towel and did it myself.
