- TTTANZADec 2, 20251.0I do not understand how this place has good reviews — it is AWFUL. The rate hikes are one thing (I went from $80 to $130), but the worst part is the lack of security. A unit near mine was pried open with a crowbar, and all of the contents (family photos) were left on the ground because it's 'not company policy' to touch people's stuff. I've heard screams and have seen police activity. Recently, our unit was broken into, the thieves replaced our lock with their own, and Extra Space Storage didn't notice or do anything. The gate used to have a code to exit, but recently they changed that so there's no code, conveniently decreasing security after multiple incidents! Please do not leave your stuff here regardless of the price or convenience, unless you don't mind it being stolen and having the response be a shrug and an apology. EDIT: It gets worse! There were rodents living in my unit. They left substantial droppings and chewed on a valuable item. I also found a dead mouse on the ground in the building. This is an unacceptable and unsanitary location. Do not leave your stuff here.
