I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience with Rona Fort McMurray was unacceptable.
We purchased a dryer and accessories online for over $700. Before completing the purchase, we specifically confirmed that haul-away of our old broken dryer was included. That was one of the reasons we chose to buy from Rona.
On delivery day, the installers refused to take our old dryer because the haul-away service wasn't listed on their paperwork. Even after showing them our receipt, they said there was nothing they could do and told us to contact Customer Service.
That was where things got even worse. I called 12 times and was transferred from one department to another without anyone taking ownership of the problem. Several times, after finally reaching someone, the call was disconnected. It was frustrating, time-consuming, and completely unacceptable for a company of this size.
The issue wasn't the delivery crew—they were simply following the paperwork they were given. The real problem was the lack of communication within Rona and the poor customer service we received when trying to fix a mistake that wasn't ours.
My advice to anyone buying appliances from Rona: carefully check that every service you paid for, especially haul-away, is clearly listed on both your receipt and the delivery paperwork before your order arrives. It could save you a lot of frustration.
We expected much better service after spending over $700. Unfortunately, this experience has left us very disappointed, and we will think twice before purchasing from Rona again.

It’s been almost over 2 years buying stuff from Rona for my home renovation, last winters I order a hard wood floor from them paying advance payment in full waited almost for 2 months doing follow up but never got any right answer from them finally after 3 months pass I found out from them that supplier discontinued the floor . Mess up my plan . Also to Mr M store manager it will be nice if you start marking down the damage material discount so that every customer treated evenly rather than only your Habibi customer get better deal. Because they speak your same foreign language . Can’t wait to see Home Depot opens there Door soon .

Purchased tiles at Rona in Edmonton, Asked in store if this didn’t match our countertop if we were able to return them in Fort McMurray - They looked it up and said yes no issue to return them to Rona in Fort McMurray.
We purchased… Couldn’t find a matching counter top to go with the theme and went to return the tiles at the Fort McMurray location 20 days after purchasing them.
Our local Rona store would not take them back, All in the original sealed packages. Tried to say they are discontinued.
Looked them up on Rona’s website - Not discontinued. Asked to speak to the manager …. None in store. They called him to come in ( mid day during the week ). We waited 30 minutes watching just one till open and people frustrated in line.
During this time called the 1-800 customer service line for Rona. They confirmed tiles were not discontinued and yes we were able to return them to any Rona location.
Manager arrives …. Attempts to say “ Just because you bought them at Rona in Edmonton doesn’t mean you can return them here. It would be the same as your neighbour saying you can park in another neighbours driveway “ …… Explained that Rona is a corporate company and all locations are linked. He tried to say Rona + is a lowes and not Rona. Called back the 1-800 number and they said that’s not true. All Rona and Rona + stores are the exact same corporation and you can return to any location.
- The receipt says “ Return hassle free within 90 Days
- We asked at Rona in Edmonton and they confirmed no issue to return to ANY Rona.
- The 1-800 number also says yes you can return them.
In store manager will not take them back stating “ Their store location has discontinued them and he would have to throw them out. “
They are available online and you can even ship them to the store for pickup.

She immediately came over to help when we asked, she answered all the questions and found answers for the questions that she didnt have an answer to.
