- JJJM4 days ago2.0Customer Service Experience Needs Serious Improvement I’ve been shopping at RONA for years without any issues—most of the workers are consistently friendly and helpful. However, my recent trip to pick up some lumber and hardware was easily the worst experience I’ve had here. I was in the nuts and bolts aisle holding a bolt I brought from home and asked a staff member named Ruma where I could find the matching nut. She completely ignored me at first, pretending not to hear me. After I said "excuse me" three times, she finally snapped back with a rude "What do you need?" When I explained what I was looking for, she didn't offer to help—she just pointed behind me and rudely said, "Don't you see any bolts there!" I mentioned I needed a specific size, so she pointed toward a sizing chart and told me to check it myself. Once I used the chart to identify the exact thread and size, she vaguely pointed down the aisle and snapped, "From here to there, these are where the bolts are—read the label and check the size!" The shift in attitude only happened after I managed to find the part on my own and asked for her name. As soon as I asked for "Ruma," she instantly flipped a switch—suddenly becoming super friendly, overly helpful, and apologizing while claiming she hadn't meant to be rude. I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 only because I’ve had great experiences with the rest of the staff over the years and I did eventually find what I needed, but no customer should have to threaten management escalation just to get decent service. Management needs to address this behavior.

I’m not a contractor, but it was a Saturday and there was only one person in front of me. The lady and the till yelled are you VIP? No? Get over there! Besides being rude I’ve never had to haul building materials half way through the store especially on a quiet day. I ended up crashing the cart on the way out of the store and honestly, HD has always been better anyways.

The representative told me that I needed to go to the Appliances department because it wasn’t her job to assist me. When I went to the Appliances department, there was no one there to help. It was frustrating to be sent from one area to another without receiving any assistance. I hope the store can improve its customer service and ensure that staff are available to help customers when needed.

Is my online order confirmation page considered an official receipt?

How do I qualify for the vehicle rental?
To rent a vehicle, you must:
> Be at least 21 years old
> Hold a valid full driver’s license (not a graduated license)
> Provide proof of insurance in your name
> Present a major credit card
NOTE: For the Province of Saskatchewan, the customer must be at least 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license.
Do RONA+ charge deposit for the truck/van rental?
A deposit of $500 for all rentals will be charged before we rent the van to a valid credit card. After inspection deposit will be refunded less the rental fee when customer return the van/truck.
How do I pay for the truck/van rental?
We accept all major credit cards.
Please note that cash, checks, gift cards, money orders, or prepaid visa cards are NOT accepted as payment for vehicle rentals. Store associates do not receive discounts on truck rentals and are charged the same rental fee as the customer.
Do RONA offer insurance for the vehicle rental?
At this time, RONA+ does not provide rental insurance. You’ll need to use your own liability insurance that covers non-owned vehicle rentals. Please make sure the proof of insurance is under the renter’s name.
What is your return policy for truck / van rental?
Returns are simple! When you bring back the vehicle, we’ll do a quick walkaround inspection and check the fuel gauge. As long as the vehicle is in the same condition and fuel level as when you rented it, you’re good to go.
