Really disappointed with the service at this RONA location today. I went in to buy some wood and needed a few cuts done. The lady working at Pro Services directed me to the lumber yard and immediately said it would take a long time, even though the store was literally empty. When I got outside, the employee in the lumber yard said he couldn’t cut the wood because no one was there to cover him and he couldn’t leave. I then had to go all the way back to Pro Services, where I was greeted by unhappy staff and had to explain the situation all over again. At that point, I honestly felt like I had to ask if I was supposed to cut the wood myself. Eventually someone helped me, but getting any kind of assistance felt like pulling teeth. Very frustrating experience, especially when the store wasn’t even busy.

Hubby and I went to the garden center today, and even though it was busy, their associates were still eager and helpful and led me to just what we were looking for. Even when we 1st walked into their main building, we'd spoken to two very nice assiciates before wed even hit the garden center. We just experienced some late frost so some of the plants were a little rough looking but they did a good job getting the best looking ones back out to the floor and there was still a huge selection of beautiful plants, at really good prices as well i might add! :)

I called this particular RONA on Mcleod Trail to inquire about a specific product. The lady I was on the phone with hung up on me mid-sentence. I kept calling back until I got through to someone again, this time a young man. He said the item was discontinued. I told him that's not what shows on their website. He then changed his answer and said it could only be found in stores in BC. Again, I pointed out to him that that's not what the website shows. He didn't seem to like me correcting him. He then said they couldn't get the item to their store and I'd have to go to another RONA to buy it. Fair enough, but since I know that they do transfer inventory from one store to another I asked why they couldn't do that for this item and he said "because it's on clearance," as if that explained it. So again I asked why they couldn't transfer an item on clearance, and his answer was "because that's not something we do." Thanks bud! That explains it. You know, even just a small amount of politeness goes a long way when it comes to customer service. Disappointed in you, RONA.

Thanks for wasting my time! I needed to pick up two items, first strike they have the enter at one end of the store and exit at the other, I can live with that, however this is a hardware store and as such customers are likely to be buying large items. I walk in and there are no carts available, I ask the greeter where they are, they inform me that they are near the checkout. Why do you need carts at the checkout!? So I walk over to the checkout, and no carts, I am less likely to buy something big if I have to carry it all over the store, but sure what ever. I get my small item without any problem. Then I wander over to the area with the large item, they don't have what I am looking for, when I find a staff member I ask them if they have what I am looking for that I saw on the website. No you would have to order it on line. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of having a bricks and mortar store!? If I am going to order it on line, there are plenty of remailers that I can do that from, a simple on line only tag on the website would have saved me a trip. Okay whatever, I go back the the exit with my small item purchase only to find that there are no humans working the cash registers. That was it I left my potential purchase right there and walked out. Do better, retailers or lose all your customers to on line shopping!

Went for advise on paint for three bathrooms in our house. Described our project, including that this paint would be exposed to large amounts of moisture in two of the three rooms. Painted and have let cure for 40 days now. The person working that day sold us matte, non-bathroom paint. We should have done more research on our own to know better, but I would expect someone to either know their products or tell us "I dont know". Went back about it to have one associate say that the paint shouldn't have done that and we would be refunded, then the next time a different associate tell us it was our fault for what we ordered and there is nothing they can / will do. We have since gone to Cloverdale, recieved a full explination of what we should have done (and a lot of surprise of what we were sold for our project) and now have the fun task of redoing all the work again.
