⭐ 1/5 – Do Not Buy Based on the Display Sample
Extremely disappointed with my experience at SiteOne Balzac.
I specifically ordered rocks that were listed and sold as “washed,” but what was delivered was full of dirt and looked very different from the clean display sample shown at the site.
Do not buy rocks just by looking at the display sample at the location. The material you actually receive may look completely different. In my case, the display sample gave the impression of clean, washed stone, but the delivered product was covered in dirt.
I placed the order on Friday for Saturday delivery, but they were unable to deliver as scheduled and the rocks were finally delivered only on Tuesday.
After seeing the condition of the rocks, I contacted the Balzac location and spoke with the manager, Mr. Zach Anderson. I was basically told that “this is how they come.” If that is the normal condition, then I do not understand why the product is advertised as washed or why the display sample looks so much cleaner.
Two days later, the manager called me in the morning and said they could take the rocks back. By that time, I had already waited several days beyond the original delivery date and needed to use the material to continue my landscaping work, so returning it at that stage was not a practical solution.
Overall, this was a very frustrating experience: delayed delivery, “washed” rocks arriving full of dirt, the delivered product not matching the display sample, and poor handling of the complaint.
My advice: do not order based only on the display sample. Ask to see the actual stock that will be delivered before you pay.
Based on my experience, I would not buy washed rocks from this location again.

As a contractor, I know the difference between washed rock and dirty aggregate. Washed rock should be clean, free of fines, and suitable for drainage and a professional finish. The product delivered to me was dirty, with a noticeable amount of soil and fine material throughout the load. This is not what I ordered or paid for. The comparison photos I’ve attached clearly show the difference between proper washed rock and the material that was delivered. I hope this helps others verify what they’re receiving before accepting a delivery.

If you are a Do-it-yourself person, save your time and go elsewhere for help with questions on products this business sells. The clerk we spoke to only answered (she) “didn’t know. AND, the Manager might be able to help, but he was in his Office working on something and, would not be coming out until he was ready.” They appear to only have interest in talking to people who already have all the answers.

They obviously have let things go here. You pull up and the landscape showcase area is a mess; full of weeds and no care at all given to showcase what they sell. Planter pots with weeds as well. The weigh scale is closed and they don’t sell by weight anymore yet when you phone the Glenmore location they said that both locations offer the same service which is not accurate. We had to shovel rock into a bucket with no handle rather than have them dump it into our truck and weigh it for payment -what a ridiculous set up! Another couple asked where we got the bucket from because there were none left inside, so as we were finished we gave them the one we were using. The clerk inside when we went to pay asked us where our bucket was and we told them, their response was not to do this in the future as they have limited buckets-seriously!!! Go buy more from Rona for $8. We won’t be returning and will find alternate landscape providers.
