The geniuses in the shipping department do not know what a SKU is and shipped entirely wrong items. Then Rona "customer service" had the audacity to try to charge me for shipping to exchange them and their reps Mohamed and Salma had absolutely no concept of the problem with this and were completely unhelpful. I bailed on the exchange and decided to just return them and be done with this, so I went in to my local store in Vancouver that they were supposed to be returned to, and again “customer service” was not going to refund the shipping. I eventually got them to, but the entire experience from start to finish was unbelievable. My fault for not just going to Home Depot to begin with. Total waste of time and effort, and I feel less intelligent after being forced to interact with these people. EDIT: Rona replied to this review saying to call the same customer service line that I had 3 times already, which got me nowhere. Brilliant. Just absolute top-notch stuff, guys.

Guys what is up with the neglected plant section? this is the second time I’ve walked in to multiple rows of dead plants. There were way more that I didn’t get pictures of as well. It’s wasteful and a sad sight to see.

I've left reviews before but deleted them as I didn't see the point in keeping them up, managers pretend to care about the problem, insist you call so they can "make sure they fix the problem", to which they never do and are relatively uninterested in being diligent at addressing anything. The staff there, the worst in the city. The worst by a long shot and I'm including staff from every industry. I dare anyone to look for lumber and find anyone to fill an empty spot. Or get anything down that has no business being up high with an empty bin below, Anyone...seriously. And when you do you're given the classic this isn't my department line, then I finally find someone and he spends 10 minutes on the phone with someone on the other end that gives excuse after excuse as to why they are not going to do anything in a timely manner or at all cause...I don't know, it's Friday?? Pick a day. This happens in all the departments BTW...it just happened to be this one on this occasion. I've walked out of this store empty handed a multitude of times and only re-visit because of convenient proximity....but that's over. I'm aware this is a rant but the ownership and management need to be completely overhauled. They lost out on another 6-800 dollar purchase because of non existent staff, and generally not giving a crap about filling bins that should never be empty. I'm amazed this location has been able to turn any profit, because outside the fake 5 star reviews on here, my sentiment is echoed all over the city. Save your money, your time, your sanity and generally your self respect and shop anywhere that has comparable product, you'll thank me for it.

There is no staff around to help you. Twice I walked the store and No one around. Then I went to get cashier to call someone, she did twice no one showed up. What is up Rona? Hire some staff!

I actually like this store for some things. There is generally a good selection, and comparable quality for materials. I haven't bought appliances here, but I have been a regular customer over the past few years in the lumber department and building supplies. For a perspective, sourcing pipe, gutter or roofing materials has been hit and miss. PVC adapters for drain pipe, which should have been relatively common were difficult to find, and the people working there actually recommended electrical adapters which had to be returned, wasting my time. I ended up having to get them somewhere else. They have a good selection of concrete patio stones and bricks, and one day someone actually helped load a flat. That service however, is not consistent. The loading area is poorly managed, and their service personnel can do better. Typically when I go here, I will park in the lot, shop inside and pay for my materials, and then head for the loading area. Yesterday there were two unattended vehicles parked in the loading area when I arrived. Both were still there when I exited with my receipt, blocking the products that I had purchased and still needed to load. Someone actually came out stating that they had purchased plywood and would need to load it, how long was I going to be blocking their van?! The mentality that they are the only person with things to do and that this was a parking zone while they shop is typical here. The loading area should be managed by the store, and I should not have had to navigate around multiple stationary vehicles that were not loading anything while they were inside shopping. It is both a hazard and a frustration, and something that I take into account before I come here. In October I had to buy 100s of bags of concrete mix for a footing, and the loading area at Rona is why I purchased from a competitor. You might think it's a small matter, but when you add 40 steps to every 50lb bag of concrete, 4x4 beam or deck block... You are making my life difficult, not better.
