As soon as we walked in, a sales associate looked both of us up and down in a judgmental way. When my husband explained we were shopping for a desk chair and mentioned that your website showed one available, the associate again looked us over and dismissively told us that you “only had one chair.” She then went a step further and suggested that we shop at Costco or Amazon—while once again looking us up and down. We were dressed casually (jeans, tennis shoes, and a T-shirt), but that should never determine how customers are treated or whether they are perceived as able to afford items in your store. The assumption that we did not belong there was both offensive and unprofessional. What makes this experience even more disappointing is that we fully intended to purchase not only the chair, but also a living room set and bar stools from your store. That opportunity was lost due to the way we were treated. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as no customer should feel judged or dismissed based on appearance alone. I would appreciate knowing how this will be addressed moving forward.
