- SRShelly RohdeOct 30, 20202.0We have been with Western Alarm for more than 15 years. At the beginning things were great, especially if you use them for monitoring the system. Once we retired and didn't feel monitoring was necessary things went down hill. We were never told that the smoke alarms were only good for 10 years sooo.. At 1:30 in the morning when my husband was out of town the whole system went off for no reason at all. I was able to finally get it turned off but it would just go off again. The came out the next day and put 5 new smoke alarms in (5/2/19, $207.41). Turns out two were not Fire X brand but were 2019 and 3 were Fire X but manufactured in 2017. Fast forward to 10/20. The fire alarms start going off and chirping again. Trevor comes out tries to figure out what happened in 2019. At this point we are sorry we ever put the system in and just want it all gone. Trevor talks us down. We took one alarm out from the stairwell which was redundant and super hard to get to and he puts in 6 brand new Fire X alarms. The office will not give any kind of credit or admit to anything they did being wrong so we are charged full price again after only a year with the other 5 alarms. All in all, we simply didn't think they handled things well and icing on the cake Trevor charges us an hour and half of labor when the original installer changed out 5 alarms in one hour. Really?? Customer relations need some work from this company.
