I was trying to price match an item sold and shipped by amazon and despite the website saying they do match those prices, she refused to. I ended up going to the Trussville location where they did it no questions asked without any hassle! Long version: I got sent to the customer service desk to price match an item that was listed for $120 that I found on Amazon for $75. The lady at the desk told me that they don't price match Amazon so I stepped out of line to double check their website and found where it says "we price-match items sold by Amazon.com but not by a third-party seller on Amazon.com". I showed this to her but she said since the discount was so much it wouldn't let her do it. No problem, she escalates to her Front End supervisor whose name was Dan. Dan was awesome and absolutely had the right mentality, he tried to price match for me after I showed him the policy. He told me he would "hate to turn a good experience into a bad one" so wanted to make sure they did the right thing. The problem is the system wouldn't let him discount it that much either so he radios his boss and says "I have a customer here who's pulled up the policy that says we're supposed to price match amazon, can you come up here and do it" she responds "we don't price match Amazon, we don't even price match our own website". That statement itself is completely untrue, they only don't match Amazon or Lowes website pricing if the items are sold by third parties. Again Dan was extremely nice and told him that since it's his boss he can't do anything for me but it's crazy that the head person in the store doesn't even know the policy from their own website. I get that this probably doesn't happen often but c'mon, she didn't even leave her office to come talk to us and see the policy, she just shut it down without even double checking. I ended up going to Trussville Lowes where not only was the item I was looking for starting price $90 instead of $120 but I took it to customer service, the guy knew to verify that the item I was trying to price match had the same model number and was sold and shipped by Amazon then he calls his manager up, the manager comes, puts in his code and I was out the door in under 5 minutes. Please take some notes from Trussville Lowes, Leeds, it would serve you well. (Also promote Dan, he absolutely has the right customer service mentality, unlike whoever was on the other end of that radio)
