    My experience wasn’t in store but on the phone with a CSR. Caleb went above and beyond. I needed help in plumbing and instead of ringing that department for 20 minutes as the Bessemer store did, Caleb went to that department himself to get the information I needed. I didn’t ask him to do that, he just did. It’s called customer service for a reason. That young man deserves the accolades!

    Stopped in on 01/20/2026 at about 8:30 pm looking for a small (9000 BTU) indoor propane heater, since Birmingham has the potential for some winter (icy) weather in the next few days. As I was walking in and up the 1st isle, I caught up to an associate that was moving with purpose and very obviously was in the middle of doing something. Her name was *Heather*. I asked her if she would point me in the direction of the heater(s) I was looking for. She was not only knew where the heaters would be, she offered to show me since they were stored in the greenhouse area. She was not optimistic that there may be any left since the ice-warning forecast was already a few days old, but she used her phone to search for the specific item I was looking for. We walked towards the area where they might be as her phone/tablet was looking. As luck would have it, they were out of them. Now this is where most employees would tell you "too bad, so sad", but that's NOT what Heather did. She walked me back to the customer-service area, and asked a 2nd associate to help "double-check" not only this Lowe's, but the several other Lowe's in Jefferson and Shelby County. Fast forward 10 minutes, and NONE of the local Lowe's appeared to have any in stock; again, time to tell me "bye", right? Nope. Heather THEN proceeded to check with Home Depot, Academy Sports, Northern Tool, and Tractor Supply, and all of this at almost 9:00 pm. As I write this today, 01/21/26 at 5pm, I was in fact able to find and buy the heater I was searching for, but it was only because of Heather, at the Valleydale Lowe's, going far above and beyond anything that could have been expected of her. She is a valuable asset to the Lowe's Company, and I hope that she is treated accordingly, because any employer would be lucky to have her in their employ. Heather exemplifies exactly what "customer service" should look like. If anyone reading this visits her location and should need assistance, you would be lucky to have her helping you.

    Went in today to have some paint and primer shaken. After standing at the paint counter for 5 min with no one in sight, and employee named Art comes up and ask me what I want. I asked to have some paint shaken (5 gal ceiling paint and a half gal of kilz primer) he immediately cut me off and said he “ain’t gonna do it because it has a rusted lid” I corrected him and said kilz had plastic lids, it isn’t corroded or damaged at all. I do this all the time. He was shocked that he was wrong and just said, “I’m still not going to do it” I’ve been shopping here for years and every time I come in the experience and customer service gets worse. This guy, Art has no business interacting with customers.

    I came to return 2 tubes of calking (unopened) with the receipt .As usual unlike other advanced places they asked for the card in order to return. I (not the cashier ) matched my card with 4 last digits from the receipt. Scanned the card, system said that transactions isn't found. Cashier said I can't return the items. FYI it was the card we paid with. Then I said that store credit will do, since we spend 10-20 thousand dollars per year in Lowe's. The cashier said they don't do store credit. I asked since when, she said since a long time ago. I saw on the receipt that we bought it in Valleydale store. She said 'oh, that's why, you can only return there'.
