The complaint i have is ....it's so hard to get through on a phone call! You can't call the Dunbar office, the number is another office and they transfer you. Well the first office takes forever to answer your call ( today it was 20 minutes before anyone answered) then they transfered me and guess what no one answered, had to leave a message. And so for nobody one has returned my call and it's almost their closing time. I received a phone call from Ashton but missed the call and she left message for me to return her call, but you can't return calls to this place.thats what i was trying to do today! And the lady that answered the call stated they have a high number of calls lately. I told her its been this way for years!!
You guys need to hire a receptionist!!!

Mr. Lamb was very very kind. He helped us with both of my husband‘s wheelchairs. He gave us info on them , that we did not know. . He has an awesome personality and is very knowledgeable and helpful about the products he works on. Kiddos to Chris!

Been trying to reach your company for days. I have left my number for a callback multiple times. Are you still in business?

Please just go with another company!! Jeremy will take 6 weeks to submit his paperwork to just begin the process. David set our in-home appointment and called 2 weeks after Jeremy came and took the measurements to set the appointment again. Cookie really should work on her professionalism telling the physical therapist that I should just go with another company is crazy. Their own employees don’t have faith in their own work. I have been dealing with them since March trying to get my sister’s wheelchair!! Jessica at the main office is the only one who answers and returns calls. She got me in contact with a supervisor Cassandra who at first acted as she was taking over since all the balls that have been dropped and she hasn’t returned a call or text. I should have just canceled and went with another company. It’s Sept and still no update smh!

Frequently Asked Questions About National Seating & Mobility
What makes NSM the preferred choice for obtaining mobility solutions?
At NSM, we are uniquely positioned to search hundreds of sources for the precise components needed to create a chair that is made specifically to meet the needs of each client. Each chair can be designed for maximum comfort and ease and will provide the specific therapeutic benefits prescribed for you by the health care team. But what really sets NSM apart is our approach. We work from the heart, honoring your journey of independence with efficient, friendly attention that puts your interests first. This is our life’s work—to help others move through life—and we take it very seriously.
How can I work with NSM for my mobility needs?
National Seating & Mobility is a member of your rehabilitation health care team. We work with your physician, nurses and therapists to provide a one-of-a-kind mobility solution customized to your needs and preferences. Because we work in a partnership with your health care team, we require a referral from them in order to be your mobility provider. To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?
NSM strives to complete each timeline phase as quickly as possible without compromising any step in the process. Please refer to this page for the full timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
Do I have a choice of which mobility solutions company to use?
The choice of a wheeled mobility supplier is yours. Discuss your decision with your physician and therapist.
