Came in to the urgent care today to get my child checked over and had the absolute WORST experience with the NP, Melissa... Why she's in the urgent or would even be allowed around incoming people is beyond me. Saying she has a horrible bedside manner is really putting it lightly. My child has severe asthma and although we have been really good this year, she is prone to bronchitis/pneumonia. We've gone through it many many times, so I know what to watch for. Well since we are in the middle of a snow storm I decided to take my chances and stay in town at waupun instead of making my way to Fond Du Lac urgent care (my mistake). She did a quick general check and I was trying to give her a little insight on my child's health history and I was letting her know, how we/our primary usually have an x-ray done just to make sure nothing is hiding because every single time the urgent care has said she was fine and sent us off, in less then 24/hours we are at another hospital getting treated for what waupun didn't check. We established she would get a breathing treatment but Michelle refused to do any imaging. And when I tried to explain to her that it would be a good idea to do so, she wanted to laugh in my face, talk to me like I was an idiot and only offer to do a nasal swab and nothing else... I let her know that my child's nose was very small, sore and inflamed and I tried asking what other options we had to check for pneumonia...she again refused and told me she wasn't going to argue (I wasn't arguing) and continued to talk over me saying she would get the denial of care release form and that I was to sign it and leave... Even though I wasn't denying care, I was trying to get it hence being in the urgent Care. And when I told her I wasn't denying care, she AGAIN laughs and goes "I've already told you your options".. and when I was trying to ask what the options were because she only gave me ONE ..she continued to walk out of the room, snarking and shut the door in my face... And I will be making more than a Google review about this situation. I work in nursing myself and NEVER have I EVER treated anyone in that manner and if I had, I wouldn't have a job. That was just completely unacceptable. I did ask to speak to the upper management of the ER, who did come in. She was nice and said "oh I'm sorry" and how we shouldn't feel upset like I was when coming in, etc but I don't feel like was a fix to the situation. And I wouldn't doubt Melissa gets to go on with her horrible bedside manners with zero consequence. It seems to be a "thing" as Waupun Urgent Care/ER.. there are a few good ones but doesn't seem to be too many. And that's pretty sad.
