    This was my first visit to a healthcare provider for a routine annual exam in the Madison area. I will never return. Dealing with the billing department at SSM Health has been the worst situation I have ever experienced from a medical provider in my life. Their teams have been horrible at communicating and helping me resolve a bill that they themselves made a mistake with on a coding issue. I must have talked to at least a dozen representatives that stone walled me and told me "there's nothing we can do." They will not communicate with my insurance who has already stated that they could resolve this issue with them if they reach out as they are supposed to, to their provider line. They have officially dragged out the process of this dispute for so long that they sent it to a collections agency. Their error has already netted them more money from my insurance company that they were due in the first place – and on my first visit, they are stone walling me for a mere $300. What kind of customer care is this? Their financial aid and billing questions teams do not have direct lines of communication. Their support number is a customer service line that will only provide you some base level information and claim they are unable to even contact the other departments for you, instead referring you to email, send a physical letter, or a fax for those departments. Even after filing a formal complaint, you will still get the same cookie cutter response. If you don't want to incur debt – stay away from this organization at all costs.

    I had right Hip replacement surgery, by Dr. Andrew Livermore, Orthopedic MD. Dr. Livermore is a Superstar, I walked the same day i had the surgery. I had a very quick recovery. My new hip is wonderful!

    CAUTION: Avoid Craig Tuller if you can. He doesn't respect personal autonomy and privacy. I saw Tuller for a new patient visit in 2025. I had personal notes with me that I was reading from to help me articulate my concerns while managing PTSD from medical traumatic events. Tuller did not show disability awareness or understanding of PTSD and autism with pathological demand avoidance. He violated my personal autonomy by repeatedly leaning over towards me to try and read my notes directly. This invaded my personal space and privacy. I was too focused on trying to calm my nervous system and get through my notes to tell him to stop. I didn't want anything I had written down to be used by him negatively. I had to keep turning myself and notes away from his leering gaze, since he couldn't read obvious body language. Tuller did not respect my autonomy and privacy.

    Do not go here if you are worried about your insurance or financial situation. Their teams have been horrible at communicating and helping me resolve a bill that they themselves made a mistake with in the first place. They dragged out the process of financial aid/disputing for so long and sold the debt to a collections agency, and they are now claiming that they were not responsible for the situation and will most likely not take the debt back to come to a settlement arrangement, DESPITE PROMISING ME THAT OPPORTUNITY PREVIOUSLY. Their financial aid and billing questions teams do not have direct lines of communication. Their support number is a customer service line that will only provide you some base level information and claim they are unable to even contact the other departments for you, instead referring you to email, send a physical letter, or a fax for those departments. You have healthcare companies behaving like this and then you wonder why people in the United States are scared to visit a doctor when they are unwell, or are extremely upset about the politics surrounding the healthcare in this country.

    I have had nothing but good experiences with the doctors and pharmacists at SSM. Dr. Tuller is an excellent primary care physician, he is always very thorough. Dr. Mikulec is the best ob/gyn I've ever seen. She did my laparoscopic surgery and did such an incredible job. Dr. Stall only does virtual appointments but he is a fantastic psychiatrist. He's extremely knowledgeable and up to date about the best treatments in the field.
