Optometrist Charles Vaslow started his own optical business in 1962, opening a small practice in downtown La Crosse on Jay Street. There, the doctor watched as the field of optometry grew as did LaCrosse and he soon added more doctors to his staff. Dr. John Hoehn joined him in 1977 -soon followed by Dr. Thomas Culver. In 1989, the name was changed to what is now known as Optical Fashions. In 2004, the practice moved from its long time location on Jay Street to where it is currently located at 2104 State Hwy 16.
