  The staff there is nice. I will give them that. However, the environment is very stressful for both me and my husband, who is the patient, and triggers our PTSD from previous, long-term, major medical events. I find the visitor policy that separates us while he is being put on the machine and taken off an endless sequence of stressful events that apparently will only end if either one of us dies. It is hard to not be permitted to be with him in the event he experiences complications during either of those times. It is so frustrating that an acquaintance of ours, who is also a visitor, can hold a conversation with him as his needles are inserted, but I, his wife, am banished to the waiting room for what feels like an eternity waiting for staff to finally remember I am there and give me permission to return to his side. The home hemodialysis program is unfriendly to patients and caregivers who still have to work 40 hours per week. For home hemo, one must trade 3 days devoted to dialysis in-center per week for at least 4 days - or better yet 5 or 6 days per week for at home dialysis treatments. My husband is not a candidate for peritoneal dialysis. There seems to not be any acceptable options for a way forward for us to ever regain any vague resemblance to our previous quality of life.

  This was my 2nd visit to this location and it is noticably better than my unit in facility, function, and management. I use a spectrum for patient care between guest and inmate. I always feel I am treated as a guest. I look forward to my next family visit
