They do not know how to fix the wheelchairs correctly they never call you back when they say they will they do not replace all Wheels when needed wheelchair won't work properly if all wheels are not replaced at the same time.. employees attitudes suck no good customer service. Only one star but really deserves zero...

My wife was broke down at the chevron right next to this place I needed a simple tool because i was on the road when she called
I figured that they could help as it was a simple request.. I opened the door and walked in and found a lady inside talking on the phone
but I did not realize that as I asked if I could borrow a wrench and the lady told the person to hang on a minute whom she was talking to and told me in a very very rude tone that they do not have anything to help me, but they had dozens of scooters and probably wheel chairs that they put together (assemble) so obviously they had something that could of helped me for a simple fix.. I don't think one star is low enough for this business and I know I was not a customer but their customer service would be a negative star in my book anyway I walked back over to the store where she was broke down and asked the guy that was working if he had a wrench and he dug around a bit and found something that would work I offered him money or my license and or car keys to hang onto for the loan of the tool as he smiled and said it was ok don't worry about it so I went outside a few turns of the wrench and wala the car was fixed! I walked back inside and handed the wrench back to him and he handed me two chicken sandwiches and said on the house! Now that is how customer service works so 10 stars to the gas station and zero for the rude lady at National Seating and mobility as I hope when she finds herself in need that no one would ever help someone like that!
Frequently Asked Questions About National Seating & Mobility
What makes NSM the preferred choice for obtaining mobility solutions?
At NSM, we are uniquely positioned to search hundreds of sources for the precise components needed to create a chair that is made specifically to meet the needs of each client. Each chair can be designed for maximum comfort and ease and will provide the specific therapeutic benefits prescribed for you by the health care team. But what really sets NSM apart is our approach. We work from the heart, honoring your journey of independence with efficient, friendly attention that puts your interests first. This is our life’s work—to help others move through life—and we take it very seriously.
How can I work with NSM for my mobility needs?
National Seating & Mobility is a member of your rehabilitation health care team. We work with your physician, nurses and therapists to provide a one-of-a-kind mobility solution customized to your needs and preferences. Because we work in a partnership with your health care team, we require a referral from them in order to be your mobility provider. To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?
NSM strives to complete each timeline phase as quickly as possible without compromising any step in the process. Please refer to this page for the full timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
Do I have a choice of which mobility solutions company to use?
The choice of a wheeled mobility supplier is yours. Discuss your decision with your physician and therapist.
