Took in a pair of broken glasses. I experienced professional, friendly customer service with Grant and they were repaired in under 10 minutes. I highly recommend this shop.

I called into LensCrafters with my FEP Vision insurance expecting a normal copay and fair pricing. Instead they quoted me over $550 total for a pair of Versace glasses even after applying their “31% off” promotion. When I asked if my insurance would help they said I couldn’t use both the sale and insurance at the same time which made no sense. Out of frustration I called Pearle Vision who also accepts FEP Vision. They quoted me around $500 retail but after insurance applied my total came out to just $160 out of pocket for the same type of lenses: Transitions, anti glare, and polycarbonate. And that was just over the phone which means if I had gone into LensCrafters in person it probably would have been even more expensive with all their upsells and “required upgrades.” That’s almost a $400 difference for the same coverage and same product. Pearle Vision was straightforward, transparent, and treated me like a customer not a transaction. If you have FEP Vision or any kind of vision insurance skip LensCrafters. Their pricing is inflated and confusing. Go to Pearle Vision instead and you’ll save hundreds and actually get honest service. Update: LensCrafters responded with a generic copy-paste message directing me to a “care form” instead of actually addressing the pricing issue. It’s disappointing that a company of this size doesn’t personally review legitimate complaints about inflated costs and misleading insurance handling.

Frequently Asked Questions About LensCrafters

How do I know if my child needs glasses?

Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.

Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?

A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
