When I first met Dr. Kang, I was comforted by his treatment plan. At first, my root canal was going well. Then, I began to suffer the worst pain I have ever experienced. I jolted out of the chair and raised my hand as they had told me to do. They would stop and readjust for only a second or two, then begin again and the pain would inevitably return. I raised my hand again and again. Dr. Kang berated me for flinching, when it was in fact the worst pain I had ever experienced and I could not control my body. He asked me to raise my hand instead. Which, I had raised my hand as I flinched, as soon as I felt the pain, but I had no control over my body's reaction. To make matters worse, I had told them I have TMJ issues and they told me to raise my hand if I needed a break. What a cruel joke! When I raised my hand, only a brief moment of respite was offered, and they never checked to see if I needed a real break. When they removed the bite block, I almost couldn’t close my mouth. It was locked open. Then, once I got it closed, I almost couldn’t open it afterward - it was locked shut. They never checked on me, even though I had informed them of the TMJ issues. I had brought my nightguard to make sure it would fit, and they dismissed my concerns about it fitting, when it is essential to my jaw health. I put it on and the assistant told me it was a good thing I had put it on right away so it would fit, even though they had told me I did not have to bring the nightguard and that my concerns about it fitting were silly, and that my general dentist would fit the nightguard (even though missing even one night can impact my jaw health). There was absolutely no regard for my level of pain, and they never stopped the procedure even when I cried out in pain. I had no information about how long the pain would last, so I began shaking. This was BY FAR my worst dental experience, the stuff of nightmares. I could absolutely count this as a point of trauma in my life. I also was given no information in advance about the recovery process and time frame. DO NOT GO HERE.

Very happy with my experience! This office was recommended by my dentist, Dr. Weller, whom I’ve been seeing for over 15 years. I had a root canal done by Dr. Woo, and she did an excellent job! I felt no pain during the procedure (with local anesthesia), and she explained each step before doing it so I wouldn’t get startled or anxious, which I really appreciated. After the anesthesia wore off, I had zero pain and didn’t even need to take any pain medication. Her assistant, Alex, was very nice, and the front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. Overall, it was a very positive experience. Highly recommend!

Everyone at Alderwood Endodontics were so friendly and informative, easy to talk to! From the front desk, to the dental assistant/hygienist, and of course Dr. Wu. They took their time with me. I did not feel rushed and Dr. Wu was very thorough with her explanations and discharge instructions. I had SO MUCH tooth PAIN that started the day before , I got in the next day to get evaluated and they were able to schedule for my root canal the same day (within 1 hour)!!!!Such relief they squeezed me in, or else I would've been in trouble waiting over the weekend. Easy location to get to. A lot of close shops you can go to after your root canal:).

I had an extremely disappointing and unsettling experience here for a root canal. From the start, it was clear that patient concerns were not a priority. My questions were brushed off, and I felt rushed rather than listened to. I opted for laughing gas, but no one seemed to care about properly assessing or adjusting the dosage. I felt awful—far from relaxed—and yet no one checked in or took my discomfort seriously. What bothered me even more was what happened after the procedure. No one made any effort to ensure I was okay or even safe to drive home after being sedated. That alone is alarming and irresponsible. The overall attitude was cold and dismissive. It genuinely felt like once I was on laughing gas, basic kindness and bedside manner were no longer necessary. Being sedated does not mean a patient deserves less respect. A root canal is already stressful. This experience made it worse. I would not recommend this office to anyone who values communication, empathy, or patient safety.

Yesterday evening I had a mouthful of howling pain, and when my regular dentist called Alderwood, they made time for me for me this afternoon! Dr. Wu worked on me steadily for 3+ hours (until 6:30 pm!) because as soon as I opened my mouth she ran into infection, decay, and complicated root growth that required complex urgent care. As Dr. Wu and her assistant Callie worked, they explained the process play-by-play, and they could not have been more helpful and compassionate. I left their office informed, optimistic, and grateful for NO PAIN. Team Alderwood is the BEST!
