Reading the negative reviews here, all I can think is these folks don’t understand the shortages that are going on right now, and also don’t understand what a chain is, and that in general ALL of us, including pharmacists, are affected by the loss of the “local pharmacy” (which, like many things, have all been replaced by chains). As a nurse who thought about becoming a pharmacist instead, I can’t imagine putting up with what the modern pharmacist has to put up with in terms of pressure from the public and in regard to current workloads. I have never had anything but a positive experience with Kinney. Yes—call ahead to let them know you are coming in for scripts, or yes—wait in line only to be told they can do it right now if you wait. This is how they are managing an incredible surge in population in the last five years, and frankly how all pharmacies have worked for as long as I can remember in all of the states I’ve in. Other states have been dealing with over-population for a long time, VT as a whole hasn’t caught up with the influx of people relocating here during and after COVID. As for the missing children’s Tylenol on the shelf, yes this is absolutely awful, but sadly—the kind of thing that happens with chains. I remember the old couple that owned the corner pharmacy in the town over from us when I lived in Virginia… they would never have missed something that critical—or they would have gone in the back and given you their own. That is not the day we live in. Kinney corporate is who you need to be yelling at. Either their supply system is broken, or they need a new supplier at that store. Either way. The folks that staff the pharmacy appear to be working really hard to keep up with all of the recent changes that came with COVID, and then the flood. I just pray that the people here complaining are not folks who moved up here in the last few years thinking they moved somewhere ready to take on all of us, including myself. Welcome to VT and welcome to 2025, and call Kinney corporate if you want to see the supply chain fixed. If Kinney corporate decides to shut down a pharmacy due to poor reviews, you all will be driving to the Walmart in Berlin—keep that in mind.

Everytime my doctor calls in a prescription I could have waited 8-10 hours for them to fill it.... But somehow when I get there the answers is always "oh it's not ready yet, give us about 10-15 minutes" In my honest opinion that's inexcusable considering how have you taken 8-10 hours to fill it but can magically do so now all of a sudden in 10-15 mins. Sad and poor excuses.

Wrong place to go if you have serious medication needs, rare diseases or organ transplant. My autistic son gets anti rejection medication and medication for a rare disease. He takes 27 pills a day. Never had any issues with another pharmacy until relocating to Vermont. When we first relocated here and went there, we went over everything and they were able to help and put together bubble packs for him. This lasted about 9 months. Then they moved that part of the pharmacy off site. I received a call saying that Kinney could no longer fill his medications but had it set up with another pharmacy. They referred me to a pharmacy in Morrisville called Optium. That pharmacy assured me that they were all set. 3 days before I was to pick the medicine up, that pharmacy called and said they can’t get 6 of his medications. 3 DAYS!! I called Kinney back, very scared, and I was told “I’m sorry but you are on your own. Take him to the hospital until you find a place to fill his medication.” Not helpful! I had less than 3 days to find a pharmacy and get his medicine before they ran out. I’m talking about life saving medications. I called around and thankfully found an amazing pharmacy in Stowe (Mountainside) that was able to help and got everything ready in less than 3 days. Very unprofessional and uncaring in any emergency or rushed situation. Fortunately, I’m in a profession that I see 100’s of people a day and can let them know how poorly Kinney Drug treated my child.

Not sure why such terrible reviews. I've never had a major issue and been going here for years. Pharmacies have a ton of red-taped policies and procedures they have to follow by law - be upset about the regulations if you need to be angry at something, but don't hate on the staff.

They don’t open until 8:30 now. Not sure how late they’re open.
