Signed up was pleasantly surprised by the service and care received from Darline. She was absolutely an expert in this field and made sure all my mine and my sister’s questions were answered before we made any commitments. She broke all the packages down in easy to understand bullets so we know what to expect! She made a daunting task like signing up for a gym easy! She had a no pressure approach and was very informative! Very warm and welcoming demeanor!Def see her for all your inquires! 10/10 service from her!
Pay extra for this and they keep the door wide open for everyone and close it early and allow staff to go yell and knocking on the doors to tell you they are closing at 9:30 despite it not even be 9:30pm. Waste of money. There should be more scrutiny and members should be able to utilize the equipment they are paying to use without the nuisance. Not to mention each time i go to this sauna a woman takes all her clothes off completely and literally so disgusting i cannot even use the sauna. There should be a clothing requirement as that is so unsanitary how she spreads her cheeks across that room and makes everyone leave. Members should not be subjected to this to use a OneLife gym. I’ve never experienced this at any other gym which is why i felt the need to write this. This gym could use better management and hours that are not so restricting giving the traffic in this area.
I’m extremely disappointed with this location and will be canceling my membership. Equipment is constantly out of order, which makes it nearly impossible to have a consistent workout. The massage beds are almost always broken, and the recovery area is even worse—both chairs have been out of service, and only one mismatched pair of the Nordic compression leg devices actually works.
For the price, this is unacceptable. A gym should maintain its equipment and provide the services it advertises, but this location clearly doesn’t prioritize upkeep or member experience. I’m taking my money to a gym that actually maintains its facility and equipment properly.
I’m posting this because management at Onelife Fitness – Woodbridge needs to address the level of attentiveness at the front desk.
I come to this location regularly, which makes experiences like this especially frustrating. I enjoy the gym itself, which is why it’s frustrating when the member experience at the front desk falls short.
This morning I scanned in at 9:32 AM. I realized I forgot my headphones in my truck, so I stepped outside to grab them. When I came back in at 9:43 AM, the front desk employee, Ryan K., asked me to sign in again.
The issue is that Ryan had literally just watched me sign in minutes earlier. I was standing directly in front of him when I checked in, and another woman walked in at the same time and signed in next to me. Ryan watched both of us check in and also watched me walk out the door toward the parking lot.
When I came back in a few minutes later, he still required me to sign in again. I pointed out that he had just watched me sign in and walk outside. His response was, “I see a lot of people every day.”
To make matters more frustrating, I use digital check-in and had left my phone inside when I stepped out to get my headphones. Because of that, I couldn’t simply scan again and instead had to stand there and give him my phone number so he could manually look me up in the system.
During this time he was also talking with a coworker, which makes it appear he simply wasn’t paying attention to members entering and leaving.
This may seem like a small issue, but it reflects a broader problem with attentiveness and member service. When someone signs in and walks out the door for a minute or two, it should be obvious they were just there — especially when the employee watched it happen.
I would appreciate it if management at Onelife Fitness – Woodbridge or someone from Onelife Fitness corporate could review this situation and follow up regarding how front desk staff are trained to handle member check-ins and interactions.

I joined this OneLife Fitness location about a year ago, and unfortunately, my experience here has been extremely discouraging.
When I signed up, I was told I would receive a complimentary training session. I explained to the general manager that I preferred a female trainer, because in my past fitness experiences, I’ve felt more comfortable and understood by trainers who share similar experiences. As a woman who has been on a major weight-loss journey (I was previously around 300 pounds), feeling safe and understood in a gym environment is incredibly important to me.
Instead of acknowledging that, my concerns felt dismissed. I was still being pushed toward working with a male trainer even after explaining why that made me uncomfortable. That interaction immediately left me feeling like my comfort and safety weren’t being taken seriously.
Unfortunately, that experience set the tone for the rest of my time here. The overall environment often felt cold and unwelcoming. On one occasion, I asked the front desk about the guest pass process, and the employee simply shrugged, said he did not know, and continued folding towels without offering any help. Small moments like that add up and make the gym feel more like a place where you’re just another membership number rather than someone on a real fitness journey.
I also want to be clear that I did try to address these concerns with management directly. I actually have email correspondence sharing my feedback and concerns, but nothing was meaningfully addressed. My concerns were essentially overlooked, which made the situation even more frustrating.
Even though I’m still technically committed to this membership, I eventually decided to join another gym in Arlington because I needed a better environment. I now commute from Woodbridge all the way to Arlington just to work out somewhere that feels more intentional, supportive, and motivating.
Environment matters more than people realize when you’re trying to change your life. Since committing to a gym that actually supports my goals and makes me feel comfortable, I’ve lost over 80 pounds. That alone shows how important the right environment can be on a fitness journey.
I’m sharing this review not because I expect management to fix anything at this point, but because the community deserves honest feedback. If you’re just looking for a building with equipment to lift weights, this gym might work for you. But if you’re looking for support, encouragement, and a gym culture that truly invests in your fitness journey, that was not my experience here.
I hope management takes feedback like this seriously in the future, because gyms can have a huge impact on someone’s health journey. Everyone deserves to feel respected, supported, and safe in the space where they’re trying to better themselves.
