In times related to my mental health illnesses, working at nights, and my sleep being pretty much non-existent, I've no showed a few appointments within the last couple of years, but I have always willingly paid for the no-show fee and I've also paid the fee if I had to cancel within 24 hours. The psychiatrist and therapists obviously don't care, as much as they say they do, for our mental health. I've actually been canceled by them a few times because the provider had to either go out on medical leave or some other personal situation had arisen. How is that okay, when I make appts that work best with my hectic schedule? Its hard for me as it is, having minimal days off to be able to be seen!
With all that being said, I've been kicked out of the practice during one of the most inconvenient and worst times in my life! And the fact that they didn't even tell me until I called to refill my meds and make an appointment! They tried to make it my fault!! Told me they discharged me a month ago and I should have found another provider already....LIE! I called a month ago and was told she needed to discuss it with the provider and they'd call me back...LIE, they never called me back! So now I'm panicking knowing I have to first, find a new practice, then start over again with new people, which all make my anxiety way worse! So I called them out on their BS and you would think it was an act of Congress, but she reluctantly filled my prescriptions for a month so I can find someone else. And ya know, I used to have a lot of respect for everyone in this place, but now they have all proven and shown to do the same thing everybody else has done all my life; left, disregarded, let me down, turned their back, no empathy or sympathy, and left me feeling unheard and unwanted!!
I always try to do the best I can, all the time, with absolutely everything I do. It just never seems to be seen or understood and I feel like I'm being punished because my emotions and depression got the best of me and I got physically paralyzed and mentally drained.
What makes it worse is to think these people work in the mental health field...they're not making me feel better, theyre just making me feel like another disappointment. As a nurse, I find this appalling and I could never turn my back on someone in need of help! What if I was having thoughts that weren't healthy and needed them to talk to? How do you think I would feel and how it would effect me?....ignored, unseen, and they just genuinely don't care...thanks FLI, I see what you really are now, uncaring and negligent! That is all...

I went to this office for about two years for psychiatry with NP Singh. She was consistently unfamiliar with my medical history each visit despite seeing me monthly for that entire duration. It was like she didn’t even check my chart before the appointment to see who I was. I had no confidence in her ability to assist me through medication adjustments but I stayed because the process of finding new providers is scary. She harped on and on about carbs and intermittent fasting and standing barefoot in the front yard meanwhile I was in serious need of a Med adjustment. She was consistently late for my appointments and suddenly switched to telehealth with no warning. The front desk ladies always looked annoyed and were unpleasant to interface with, like it was such a bother to check me in or make my appointment. The office itself is dated and rarely would anyone answer the phone when I would reach out for help. Places like this keep people who really need mental health help from getting the level of care they deserve.

Excuse the name and the profile picture, I did not want to use my real name and this is an old account I had access to. I have never had such a bad experience with a therapist. I came here to talk about strategies to manage my anxiety, and I was completely dismissed. I was told at the end of the appointment that I did not have anxiety, but rather I was just having problems “adjusting.” Do not come here if you want to figure out ways to manage your anxiety. I was told that my anxiety was just a part of me that is in my character. According to the therapist, my anxiety has taken a long time to get to this point and it would take a long time to get rid off. Due to this, my anxiety was just something that I would always have to live with.
