  I've been going here for decades. A family run business that treats you and cares for you like a good family. I always come leaving well adjusted and ready for the week and my sleep always improves after a visit!

  I was in so much lower back pain— trouble sleeping, couldn’t participate in my normal daily activities, etc. I was worried about being able to keep up with my kids on a pre-planned ski trip, and I was not able to only keep up, I was able to ski without pain three days in a row! I look forward to continuing my treatments and being able to resume other activities as well!

  Dr. Spencer Johansen at The Spine Group truly changed my life. I came in barely able to walk and in excruciating pain, feeling completely defeated. From the very first visit, he went above and beyond to help me heal, taking the time to listen, explain everything, and make sure I felt comfortable and cared for.What means the most to me is that he didn’t just focus on relieving the pain , he continued to work with me to make sure this doesn’t happen again. I am beyond grateful for his compassion, knowledge, and dedication. I highly recommend Dr. Johansen to anyone looking for real care and real results. Dr. Tara Johansen has truly changed the way I look at my health. Through the ChiroThin weight loss program, she taught me how to eat healthy and finally make my health a priority. She genuinely takes pride in helping you become your best self the right way — without pills, without starving yourself, and without the unhealthy shortcuts so many others push. What sets Dr. Johansen apart is how empowering she is. She makes you feel capable, supported, and confident — like you really can do anything you set your mind to. Gabrielle greets you with a beautiful smile and a friendly “How are you doing?” Within just 5–10 minutes, another warm smile—Destiny’s—brings you back for treatment with a thoughtful “How are you feeling?” Destiny ensures you’re set up on the machine best suited for your needs and makes certain your comfort is always prioritized. We also cannot forget the wonderful Becca, who handles paperwork and ensures billing runs smoothly. The staff here is top-tier, which speaks volumes—they’re clearly treated well. They are friendly, funny, and genuinely kind. Every visit leaves me feeling rejuvenated. Scheduling appointments is extremely flexible and accommodating, making it easy to fit care into a busy life. In the six months I have been coming to The Spine Group, my back has shown significant improvement. My posture has improved, and I feel noticeably fewer aches and pains. As for Dr. Spence, he is phenomenal. I love how thorough and personable he is. He gets the job done, and as someone terrified of getting my neck adjusted, I completely trust it in his hands. He goes above and beyond to ensure a safe and comfortable environment. I can confidently say there aren’t many chiropractic offices in Virginia Beach as professional, polite, and encouraging as this one. You can tell everyone here genuinely loves their job. And we cannot forget Dr. Tara, his wonderful wife and an accomplished chiropractor in her own right—truly a power couple. She helps run this outstanding facility while also offering weight loss and nutritional programs. Even in my limited interactions with her, she has been warm, bubbly, and genuinely sweet. I was initially unsure about chiropractic care, but The Spine Group educates you and makes you feel informed. I dislike experiences where I go in, get an adjustment, and leave without understanding my treatment or what results to expect. Here, that’s never the case. For a place that truly has your 'back,' The Spine Group makes feeling your best easy.
