Absolutely not, The culture of this gym makes it not recommendable. Overcrowded, too small, staff is stressed out to make sales, high pressure taken out on potential members. Lack of management presence much of the time,, lack of management presence. People just walk in or are let in without memberships as a result, of lack of supervision, my friend got in. Disempowered staff left alone to deal with an overcrowded gym do sales, have no Management presence, pretty much chaos, on weekends and evenings. Very poorly run. You are better off seeking a membership elsewhere.
Informational Review
The gym is owned by the Commanders Group, who need to make much needed improvements, including management. In discussion with the GM regarding the below he stated “ they tell me what they will do, I do not make these decisions.”
I would not recommend this facility for the following reasons:
This gym is very old, the equipment is sparse comparatively speaking.
I am shopping for a gym took a tour and guest pass for 1 week.
There is much chemical cleaning no other gyms do. I have children and will not put them in the kids club, due to my tour and the use of non human safe cleaning chemicals around the children.
For the volume of members they have and want, it cannot serve the equipment needs of those working out.
Staff was pleasant other than my initial contact with the GM, very unfriendly, complained of his knee ailments the entire time.
Water is dripping or rather running in the women's shower area, this caused mold to grow, this toxic to people has health repercussions, I am an Environmental Analyst.
Aerobics room in the front has condensation on all windows, with mold growth, Environmentally unsafe with health repercussions.
The EP room id poorly equipped with dust all around the edges, scrubbing with chemicals when simple vacuuming works shows lack of good practices.Therapy balls were old dirty deflated, wobble board (1) was very old. This is not a true EP room, it lacks essential EP equipment. It is used for storage of an old giant circuit board thrown up against the wal.
Main floor is poorly arranged crammed in very old equipment, multiple wooden platforms for powerlifters, not a huge market group.
The gym lacks, additional pec deck, a popular piece of equipment. glute press, other gyms have glute presses, additional seated upright leg press which was popular.
Unless very small Gyms typically have 2 of each kind of equipment to accommodate all members. This is a huge chain of gyms.

I took a tour for myself with my partner along, with the main proprietor Mr. Custard. Then decided to try it out. Per engaging with members I discovered this was an old Golds location.
The equipment per long term members is the same that would mean it is going on 16 years old. The proprietor is the same Manager from back then as well.
I found the following: an old large 5’ x 6” approx. electronic board in the EP room, non functional and stored up against the wall. Equipment black pad coverings had just been done. One leg extension still had large tears on it, like no one bothered to make sure all pads were done.
Large amount of Power lifting platforms vastly unused, equipment was squeezed in hard to get around due to floor space lacking from power platforms. Very little lower body equipment, but the tour guide Mr. Custard kept talking about “ my Pendulum Press or Squat “ not sure, but the week there it went largely unused.
Noted people just sitting on equipment texting for up to 20 minutes, yes I timed it, equipment was inaccessible. My workout took forever to get done.
Mr. Custard seemed disinterested, and made gestures like “ see “ (?) Membership terms were unclear and poorly presented. Such as extra fees etc. I had to ask.
I noted dirty old wobble boards, and old therapy balls were ancient as well as well under inflated. I also noted large black plastic machine foot pads thrown about as if they should be picked up or used, not sure which.
General lack of care in design, floor equipment placement, and current fitness modalities, like the place was stuck in the past old time. In conversation, I spoke with to see how they liked the place, they complained of equipment that broke and was never replaced for example additional pec deck. It was “ okay.” My perception as well.
After visiting other gyms in the area, they are state of the art, and a new 2 level one is coming to the area at an old Golds location in Herndon. I am new to the area so unfamiliar.
Overall, will hold off on this gym, it seems to prefer I found out lower paying $25 per month temporary student members, not Premier memberships. That is a bad sign when you start giving the gym away, while others are paying premium pricing.

Greg has to be one of the most welcoming and knowledgeable general managers I have ever met within the gym business setting. He was so easy to work with at my trial workout and exploration of the gym. It is easy to see that Greg's friendly demeanor has created an environment that is welcoming to everyone! Greg's Onelife Fitness will be top tier since he is already delivering that experience to members and potential members! Have a happy and healthy new year Greg!
From the moment you walk through the doors, it’s clear this gym operates at a higher standard than most. The facility is impeccably maintained, the equipment is top-tier, and the overall atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between motivating and welcoming. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to show up and put the work in.
That said, what truly elevates this gym from excellent to exceptional is its staff—most notably Daniel Powell. Daniel is, quite simply, the gold standard of professionalism in the fitness industry. His knowledge, approachability, and genuine commitment to members’ success are immediately evident. He has an incredible ability to make every interaction feel intentional and supportive, whether he’s offering guidance, encouragement, or simply ensuring everyone feels comfortable and confident in the space.
Daniel brings a level of energy and integrity that reflects extremely well on the gym as a whole. He leads by example, consistently going above and beyond, and it’s clear that his presence alone raises the bar for both staff and members alike. If every gym had a Daniel Powell, the industry would be in a much better place.
Highly recommend this gym to anyone serious about their fitness journey—or anyone who simply wants to train in an environment driven by excellence. Outstanding facility, outstanding people, and truly standout leadership on the floor.
