My chair needed adjustments to the seat back, brakes and axel. He handled all of these adjustments quickly and exactly. He always calls before he comes and provides an approximate time of arrival. He delivers outstanding service with ease and care.

- POPeyton O.Feb 5, 20261.0I called and sent over a referral for a gait trainer for my child on 12/5. I was told someone would contact me within 48 hours to schedule an appt. It's been two months to the day and despite calling and emailing multiple times and being told repeatedly I'd receive a call in 48 hours, I still haven't. I have no idea how their actual service is because I've never been able to utilize it. This has been a fairly frustrating experience and would not recommend this company because of it. If we ever are able to connect with them, I'll update this review to reflect the full experience.
- JDJames DoyleFeb 4, 20261.0This is one of the worst companies I have ever worked with. They have changed their phone system to a national call line which then has to direct you to the local branch. They say that they will call you back and then never do. I have received parts, repairs, and full manual wheelchairs from this company on multiple occasions and they are never correct the first time often requiring me to do lots of labor myself just to get a working chair. In my last repair order multiple parts were delivered incorrectly and the technician did not even torque the screw to specifications resulting in a nasty accident where my chair broke in public a few weeks later. This company does not offer any sort of timely or emergency repairs so when something breaks if you are dependent on your wheelchair they will not help you for weeks at a time. If it is possible to work with a different company I would highly recommend you do. This company has made my life miserable and actively damaged my recovery journey post injury.

To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?

Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
Do I have a choice of which mobility solutions company to use?
