I recently had a very disappointing experience at Eyetown Vision Center in Springfield, VA. The front desk staff is very unprofessional and incompetent. Where do I start? 1. They tried to pressure me to purchase new prescription glasses from them claiming they will give me a “discount” but after tallying up the so called discount, the price of the generic eyeglasses was close to what designer glasses would cost. 2. When I refused to make a purchase and let the optician know I want to compare prices at other places, the lady got very mad and her tone changed. 3. They wouldn’t let me leave their establishment with my prescription on hand claiming Dr. Surmaty was “still working on them”. I had never heard of an eye doctor be unable to release prescription records after a patient’s visit. This is unacceptable!! 4. It took multiple phone calls and emails over 3 weeks for them to release my contacts prescription. Please take your hard earned money somewhere else that treats you with dignity and respect. Unfortunately this place is not it.

Dr. Sumaty is very attentive and patient. I have keraconus so I need specialty contacts called scleral. I walked in there not being able to see anything to he has me seeing 20/20. Great service all around all the way to his front staff. Awesome visits every single one of them.

I’ve been putting off writing this review for so long, but it’s almost time for my next appointment and I just remembered to write it. My visit gave me mixed feelings about this establishment. The girls at the front desk were absolutely LOVELY. I had such an amazing talk with them, and they were willing to help in any way I needed. I can’t say the same for Dr Levin. She was just plain rude. No other way to put it. Disrespectful and talking down to the other employees with condescending attitude. She also walked into the room giving me attitude. I was waiting FOR HER in the exam room, texting my mom and checking emails. AS SOON as she walked in, she said “This is an eye exam, put your phone away”. What I do while waiting is none of her business! If it weren’t for the receptionist girls, I wouldn’t be coming back. Get rid of her!
