They have about every machine that exists. You pretty much never have to wait to do your set because of how much space and equipment they have. Posing room has the best lighting. Sauna is perfect for trying to relax after an intense workout. It’s always a very clean gym, even the bathrooms. If you’re looking for a place to grow, learn, and lift, this is the spot. (Even for noobs and shy guys)

It is very spacious, very clean, well equipped, well maintained, and ambient music not too loud. Staff members are genuinely nice and helpful people, and I have always been greeted kindly when I come in. When I joined, Assistant Manager Ramsey graciously took extra time with me to orient me to the gym so that I would know where to go and what equipment to use to perform specific exercises in my workouts - and he was enthusiastically happy to do so! You can tell that the staff here really cares about the gym members, the equipment, and the facility. People from all walks of life come here - younger, older, heavy lifters, light lifters, etc. all with varying fitness levels. Everyone that I have encountered here have been mature, respectful adults which further contributes to a positive gym experience for all. This gym has never felt crowded to me - I have always been able to get through my workouts without having to wait for equipment. If you're looking for a more social gym experience with things like fun meet-n-greet events and group exercise classes then this might not be the right place for you. But if you're looking for a clean, spacious gym with a welcoming and respectful environment where you can come in and get your workouts done efficiently then Iron Asylum Newport News might be a great place for you. I know it has been the right choice for me!
