- KSKathleen Scott4 days ago1.0I was referred here by my eye doctor for cataract surgery. I set up my appointment, provided insurance information, and all demographic and personal information. I was instructed to take my contacts out for 2 weeks prior to my appointment (which I complied with) and I was sent multiple videos to watch in preparation. Two days prior to my appointment, I received a call from the office that they don’t take my insurance. However, I had already checked and made sure they were in network with my insurance. There was no explanation provided to me. I was devastated, as my vision is crucial in my career as a nurse. I rechecked my insurance again to see if I made a mistake, however, it clearly shows them as being in network. I called back for an explanation and was transferred to a few different people until finally, someone who works with insurance claims told me that yes, they do take my insurance, but the “doctors just decided to stop taking it.” This is unacceptable and poor management! I understand if I had just called for an appointment, but they already knew what insurance I had at the time they scheduled me. They should have kept the appointments that were scheduled not just cancel 2 days prior. Extremely poor customer service!

Other than the construction, the building and grounds are nicely kept too. My overall experience was 10 out of 10. I do recommend Piedmont Eye to my friends.
