99% of the staff is generally friendly and welcoming. There’s always that one who bring down the numbers unless you engage with them for training services.
The parking situation is manageable. Outdoor parking requires a valid pass to avoid towing. Covered garage parking is available; however, caution is advised, as there have been instances of attempted vehicle break-ins.
Security measures are adequate but leave room for improvement. There have been reports of unauthorized individuals entering the facility, accessing lockers, and stealing personal belongings. In some cases, these incidents have extended to attempted vehicle theft.
The facility itself is notably outdated. During the winter months, heating issues are common, resulting in uncomfortably cold conditions, members often wear jackets and hats while working out. Additionally, there are recurring water leaks following storms. The overall layout of the gym floor is inefficient, with a large turf area that, while once appealing, is now worn, unclean, and overcrowded with equipment. This space is used simultaneously for stretching and workouts, leading to congestion and hygiene concerns.
The weightlifting areas are particularly cramped, especially around the dumbbells, leaving very limited room to move safely or comfortably. Deadlift platforms are in poor condition, with visible damage and uneven surfaces. Although new benches have recently been introduced, they replace equipment that had been outdated for many years. While some new equipment has been added, much of it consists of older, bulkier models compared to the more modern equipment found at other onelife locations.
The indoor track, which has three lanes, is frequently occupied by individuals walking or socializing, limiting its intended use. Repurposing this space could significantly improve the overall layout and capacity of the gym floor.
Natural lighting is virtually nonexistent, contributing to a less inviting atmosphere. The pool has reportedly been closed for over five years, and the recovery room equipment such as compression sleeves and massage devices are often nonfunctional or in disrepair.
Locker rooms are a little outdated but manageable. Showers can be greatly improved. I most certainly would never go into the steam room.
Due to high traffic, the best time to use the facility is during early morning or other non-peak hours. Membership demand has increased further due to nearby residential partnerships offering access to this location.
In contrast, many other locations within the same brand have undergone substantial upgrades, including improved flooring, modern equipment, and enhanced overall environments.
In summary, while the facility maintains a generally welcoming atmosphere, it is often overcrowded and relies heavily on outdated infrastructure and equipment. It appears that this location has not received the same level of investment or attention as others, and significant improvements seem unlikely without major renovation or redevelopment.
Recommendation: end the lease find a new location to move into.
Overall ok facility and friendly staff, but they need to better allocate their choice of equipment and layout. During peak evening times every weight machine will be occupied and most of the turf will be covered. Cardio machines will be under utilized and not allocated for optimal utilization by machine type. They probably just need to expand the workout area due to how much this gym is used. It’s a hangar type building, they could make a two story platform in some areas to pack in more equipment, but don’t want them to have to close for renovations, it’s very conveniently located. Locker rooms stay pretty grungy, but they refreshed the men’s sauna recently. You can make it work here, but wish they would make an investment to upgrade and expand the facility. There seems to be plenty of demand.
EDIT - chronic plumbing issues, reports of burst pipes and steam explosions. Typically causes them to cancel towel service u til resolved. Usually 1-2 days.
Now flooding on the track, so that’s closed.
This place has critical infrastructure failing. Renovation or new build is needed here. This club apparently dates back to the 50s or earlier before it was branded OneLife.
