- KKKostadin KushlevDec 8, 20212.0You call your pharmacy the day before your prescription runs out. They tell you that they are not sure if you have your medication and they are too busy to check. If they don't have it, it will take two days or more days for them to refill your prescription. So you will go without your medication for several days. You begin to wonder whether their uncaring, dismissive attitude about you not having your medication has to do with the type of medication and your condition. Would they be so dismissive if your condition had less to do with a cognitive impairment but was, say, a life-saving heart medication? I always feel bad for pharmacists as they are obviously overworked and are trying to do their best, but job stress does not excuse the inability to perform the most basic tasks of your training: show care for your patients. This has now happened twice, so it seems to be a systemic issue rather than a one-off.
