Birthing Basics is now offering our courses in an online format, (we will relook the possibility of in classroom sessions periodically). This allows all expecting mothers an opportunity to receive a birthing class while adhering to the current environment of social distancing regulations. You can view the various group, high risk and comfort class date blocks, registration and payment information on our website.
Childbirth classes are designed to provide the mother and father a comprehensive, informative session covering all aspects of childbirth beginning with the last trimester, covering labor and delivery and newborn childcare. Topics in labor and delivery include the newest evidence-based “Mother-Friendly” care for laboring women including: comfort measures, breathing techniques, analgesia, anesthesia, vaginal delivery, natural child birth, assisted deliveries and cesarean section, skin-to-skin contact at delivery for successful breastfeeding. Group classes are available and are limited to five couples per class. If you have a health challenge that influence your pregnancy and perhaps can alter your plans for birth, we can discuss your special needs after the group class for an additional consultation.
Lisa is the absolute best!! Highly recommend the course especially for all new parents. The added bonus for us was having Lisa present at the hospital on the day of delivery - a truly reassuring presence! Would definitely attend the class again!

My husband and I completed Lisa's online class last month and it helped prepare us for our daughter's unexpected early arrival last week. We took notes, practiced her modules, and prepared for an unmedicated birth, but experienced a tricky induction and emergency C-Section. Without this class I would have been petrified. Thanks to her explanation of interventions and spinal blocks, I felt confident and comfortable when our birth wish list went out the window. Thank you Birthing Basics!

I took this course back in 2016 and have used its knowledge & training in a total of 3 births! One induction with pitocin and an epidural which I wasn’t afraid to get bc I learned all about it here. And then two unmedicated births using all her tips and tricks for contractions. I just had my 3rd and my providers are always amazed at how well I labor through contractions all because of this class. This course is worth every penny; it’s the course that keeps on giving!

Look, for the guys reading this post I'm telling you to suggest Birthing Basics to your spouse. Lisa is extremely knowledgeable and professional (as a credentialed delivery nurse) and frankly the best for time/cost. We looked at these 24 hour seminars over 12 weeks. Nonetheless.
Lisa will knock this out in a reasonable time - she's direct, grounded, and no nonsense. It's all content and practical information for helping you help your wife get through delivery.

My wife & I did the birthing class with Lisa and we both thought she was phenomenal, awesome teaching tactics plus great hands on experience. Although we may have been her first female couple, she welcomed us pleasantly. Everyone else just stared but we weren't bothered!!! You GO Lisa, your sharing from experience is a beautiful thang!
